Default Ruger GP100 .327

Traded a 14-2 to a member of the board for this nice GP100 in .327. Got it to the range yesterday. Accurate as most .32's are. To me this is a perfect sized gun for the .327 round. I wish S&W would bring out a 16-4 in .327. The Houges aren't the worlds prettiest grips but work really for my hands. Good SA and DA trigger as well.

The Ruger SP101 fits my small hands much better. 6 rounds of .327 vs. 5 rounds .357.

I've really wanted a 627 with 8 shots of 357, I wonder if you could squeeze 7 .327s into a GP-100 frame. I would be interested in that.

Congratulations on your trade..

Unfortunately I didn't get into .327s until after the GP100 was gone... Would love to see Ruger bring it back with the same profile 5.5" barrel that is on their .22...

I have a Freedom Arms 6.5" 97 and a Ruger LCP but would love to have a medium frame DA revolver like a GP100, 66 or 686....

I did not know. I knew the Blackhawk was eight, that remains a grail gun for me. But a GP100 with seven. Now I've got to look around.

I would have bought one if they had been focused on hunting and target shooting. By that I mean made with a longer barrel without a boat anchor attached. Reaming the barrel used for GP 100 .22s larger is a good idea but longer would be better.

I see an opportunity here for S&W and their K frame. My guess is that using .32 caliber would eliminate forcing cone cracking.

My preferences aside, glenncal1, you got a revolver that is highly prized on Ruger specific forums.

I had a .327 Blackhawk. I am not really a SA revolver fan, they just dont fit my hands like a DA (and yes I have tried other grips). I sold the Blackhawk when the .327 got popular again and doubled my $$ with it. I purchased a Single 7 when they came out. A much better fit for the .327 IMHO. The Blackhawk is a big heavy gun. I have a .327 sp101 and it is a handy gun easy to carry. But I really enjoyed shooting the GP100 and 4" 16-4 would be the cat's pajamas for the round.

Sounds like a good trade. The GP100 .327 was manufactured for a relatively brief time and the few I've seen for sale recently have gone for over $900, depending on condition, original case/paperwork, etc. I got one thinking it was a .357, but after buying read the fine print on the barrel (.327 Federal Magnum) but was pleased nonetheless.
