The 10mm Shooters Anonymous Thread...
Well, the 10mm bug bit bad. I was warned that this would happen, but tried one anyway...
A Colt Delta Elite opened the door to a Glock 40 MOS, which held that door wide open for a Mech Tech CCU Carbine Upper and another G40 MOS.
I'm looking for a 610, a 1076, a long slide Witness, and will probably end up with a reloading press - all due to this lousy 10mm round !
Anyone else have the bug? Please feel free to share, as misery loves company !

I bought a 1006 in 1992 but didn't really shoot it that much due to the price of the ammo. Now that a couple of ammo makers are selling decent ammo (Sig Sauer and S&B) at a more reasonable cost, my interest in 10mm has gone up a bit.
The Sig ammo is near full power and has been selling for about $23 a box. The S&B is only rated at 1160 fps, but sells for about $16 a box of 50. Beats the heck out of AE or UMC which typically sell for double that.

The only 10mm I have is this old 610, but I kind of like it.

I've got a Delta Elite and a model 20. A 610 is on my list of wants but at current prices that's not going to happen anytime soon. If the guns were reintroduced I'd be in line to buy one.
I've got a Mech Tech in 9mm. 10mm would be even better.
In my opinion reloading is a must with this round. With my home cast bullets I can load rounds for under $.10 a piece. With store bought bullets it's closer to $.20.

The 10mm bug bite me too. I have a Dan Wesson Razorback and a Sig P220 Elite SAO. I dont like the feel of Glocks anymore, otherwise I would have one of those too.
Took a deer this year with the Sig, he didn't go far.
I almost bought the Colt Delta, until I held the Dan Wesson at the same time. The Wesson felt much better to me.
I would probably buy a SW 10xx, if I ever saw one for sale.

10mm addict
I too have the 10mm "sickness" it seems. After seeing the prices of the "custom" guns in the marketplace, I constructed this 10mm out of purchased parts. A relatively inexpensive Essex stainless frame, Caspian slide, and a Schuemann Ultimatch "no bushing" barrel. Needless to say, a lot of fun both building and shooting.
Also coverted a spare 4053 .40S&W slide and barrel to shoot 10mm. A little more recoil and noise with this one, but suprisingly accurate, more so than when shooting .40 cal loads.
The tough part of this one was coming up with a working recoil spring combination. Finally settled on the OEM inner spring and a 23 lb. outer spring on the smaller diameter guide rod.
4053.........

Enjoy my Colt Delta Elite SS. Shipped the slide off to Novak and had an adjustable rear sight put on. Shoots great.
Had a M1076 as an issued duty pistol for about 10 years and could have purchased it for near nothing when the change to the M4566 was made. I was never happy with my M1076's accuracy, so did not buy it. Did, however purchase another NIB from a friend that shoots great.
It also helps that somehow I had accumulated a life's supply of 10mm brass along the way.

10mm is an itch you just keep scratching. Here’s mine: Glock 20’s in gen 3 and 4 as well as a G40MOS and a G29 gen 3, a S&W 1006 and a Delta.

Count me in for a Delta Elite in 1986 and a 1076 about 29 years later. Lots of Blue Dot burned up between them.

I've always had a strong interest in 10mm and just recently aquired my first. A Glock G40MOS and a Lone Wolf barrel for shooting hard cast.
10mm shooting would be a no go for me if it weren't for handloading. Factory ammo is scarce and pricey. Instead I ordered a thousand round of brass from Starline and load various loadings using Berry's, Nosler, Hornady, and cast bullets. This works out great since I also load for my FNS40 and most of the components are shared between the two calibers.

I was lucky and scored a couple of 5 gallon buckets of 10mm brass from the FBI range on Fort Knox years ago. Most of it shows the flutes from the MP10, but reloads fine.

Yep, I've had the Bug since the first. Worked the Dornaus & Dixon booth at SHOT when the Bren Tens we just being introduced. Soon had a very early one of my own. Since then had Delta, Kimber, G!@(k, several S&W 10MM semi-autos, two of the 5" 610 revolvers, a Ruger Blackhawk in 38-40/10mm,etc. Have reloaded 10MM since dies first became available and the only jacketed pistol bullet available in.400" diameter was the old Remington 180 JSP intended for the 38-40 revolvers. Don't shoot 10MM much any more and currently own and operate only one 10MM, a S&W 1026 I found LNIB several years ago. BTW, the two first run 610 revolvers I had were the finest, most accurate 10MMs I have ever owned.
