romanian army 22s?
I ran across one of the Romanian army 22 trainers with the sling and they priced it good. I remember when these came over most folks liked them. I think they were made by CZ. Anyone have one or used to have any info on them. even post a photo or two.

I think you are talking of the M1969 .22 rifle.
I have one somewhere and don't think it's CZ made....I'll dig it out and look..however I think mine is made by the same factory that makes/made Romanian AK's(Cugir??)...I'll dig mine out.
Anyhow...mine is an accurate shooter...has a couple 5 shot mags...not the best feeding bolt action .22..but does work.

There's a fair amount of chatter about the rifle on different forums if you google it. Seems generally well liked.
Saw mention of a reference book in a six year old thread that you might want to get if you go for the rifle. From the thread:
Paul Liska's "A Guide to the .22 Caliber M69" is almost a "must have" book. It's really the only available manual for the rifle and he can be contacted through his email address [email protected] The cost of the book when I ordered it was $6.50 and I think shipping may have been included in that price, but I don't remember for sure. Email Paul and find out. There is a whole wealth of troubleshooting info for various problems with the M69 in that book and a bunch of fairly clear photos of all the parts and how they go together.

When they were originally imported the batch I saw were brand new! I bought 2 for $66.00 each. I cleaned one and left the other in the packing grease. I sold the cleaned on five or six years ago for $150 to Cabela's. I saw one this week, it was black with crud and pretty roughed up for $100. It is not a target rifle! But with some good target ammo (not milk carton ammo!) I would get 1 to1.5 inch groups at 50 yards/meters using the Iron sights. Milk carton ammo usually did around an inch at 25 yards open sighted. With target ammo and a 6x Leopold scope, we would shoot aspirin pills at 50 with 90%+ hits. Plenty good for rabbit and squirrels!
I still have the other rifle and 2 spare mags packed away. I wish I had bought 10 of them, so every grandchild could have one!

Years ago I and a brother in law bargained at a show, ended up with two for$100 OTD.(good times). Great fun, many hours plinking with many kids. good for MO can at 50yds with bulk ammo. Mine is still a much used rifle.

I bought one a few months ago. I only took it out shooting once, really just verified that it fed rounds, and that the sights were somewhat "on". I need to spend some more time with it, see what ammo it prefers, get a better idea of how the sights are set, if they need adjustment. So far, I like it. I really like the rear sight...it has flip-down blades for 25, 50 & 100 meters. Need to find another mag, or two.
Here's a pic, though not of mine, just did a Yahoo search and found a bunch of pics. Not hard.
