Default Walked into the gun shop and came out with a Sig (and I don't even smoke!)

I took advantage of an afternoon off and sunny 60 degree weather to head out to the gun range. I had a few older S&W revolvers I had been trying to sell for a while locally and decided to put some rounds through a couple of them. When I got through, I stopped by a local gun shop to show them to an older (15 years older than my almost 60) fellow who likes the old models.

I showed him an older Chiefs Special and a couple of 10-5 revolvers. He said the owner liked the older smaller revolvers and showed it to him. After talking and looking at stuff (we have done business before) I told the owner I could tell he liked the Chiefs Special and asked if he wanted to trade it for a Sig P250.

I had handled a Sig P250 he had in the display case for sale while I was looking at his store guns and, having never owned a Sig and liking the DAO hammer-fired style, thought it would be fun to own one and try it out. It came new in its plastic protective case out of his gun safe with two 15-round magazines, Sig matching paddle holster, and Sig limited life-time warranty.

We looked at the internet prices of comparable guns to those we were considering trading and made the deal. I have found myself with too many similar revolvers (for my purposes and perception) so I am keeping the nicest of the models and selling the others.

So, my question after this long dissertation is have any of you owned a Sig P250 Compact in 9mm and how did you like it?

Thanks!

I liked the Sig P250. Trigger is long but smooth. I had a full size 9mm, compact 9mm and and sub compact 45acp. Liked them so much I shipped (FFL to FFL) the 9's to a buddy and his wife in Chicago when they finally decided guns aren't evil, bag guys are.
You'll enjoy firing it. Mags are expensive.
Sig builds great guns.

Same here. I duty carried a P229 in 40 S&W for 20 years. Nowadays I own a Sig 1911 Blackwater, and a P290 RS. My experience as a Sig Armorer for my LE Agency taught me they are quality, reliable firearms. My only complaint is their pricing.

I have a P250 subcompact .380 I bought for my wife. It has about 2500 rounds through it. It is very accurate and reliable, and has a super-smooth and easy to use DAO trigger. Since you're used to DAO, I think you'll like the SIG. There might be another semi-auto out there with a great DAO trigger, but it would be hard-pressed to beat the P250.

Nice choice, I have a P250C myself. The trigger and grip remind me a lot of my K-Frame revolvers. I shoot both about equally well.

I have the P250 in 45 with the compact frame. It's in my carry rotation with my 3913 and Glock 23. What i like about it especially is that it fits my hand better than a 1911, has 3 more rounds, and shoots as nice as my 45 GAP. The trigger tskes a little getting used too, but I really like it after a few hundred rounds.

Love my P250!

I installed a Compact grip unit on my Sub-Compact, cut off the excess in the front, removed the plastic rail, and, Voila!--a 10 shot sub-Compact!

Shoots great!

The nice thing is if you screw up the frame modifying it, a new one is under $50.00, any size, any color. Great guns for sure.
