Default Found an old Ruger Single Six...

S/N (550XXX) dates it to late 1960's, 22 magnum (don't know if it has the .22 cylinder as well) but it is the old three screw model, blued, wood stocks and in excellent condition. Asking $399. Already have a Bear Cat, but this one is calling me. Any idea if I should jump on it, ask for $350 selling price instead, it is on consignment. Thanks in advance.

I sold a recent one with both cylinders and wood stocks for $475. If it has both cylinders, I would think $350 is a deal. Just check the cylinder rod and springs for rust.

Ruger's revolver support is outstanding, and they sent me a lot of small parts at no charge as I was refitting an older Colorado Centennial.

The Single Six is a great revolver, I had a 1965 made version that I sold to a Ruger enthusiast and I own two New Model Super Single-Sixes which are not going anywhere. $350 is a very good deal if it has both cylinders and OK if its just the 22 WMR. They are very good shooters and nearly impossible to wear out.

Default Went for the Ruger Super SIngle Six...

Just one cylinder, dealer said it's Magnum but I have no idea how to tell without putting in a cartridge....six inch barrel and already returned to Ruger for the transfer bar installation. Hope that doesn't affect it's value. Thanks for the input.

Ron, here is a pic comparing the lr to the magnum cylinder. The .22lr chamber side is recessed where the magnum one is flat.

Thanks for the pics, Cyphertext...will have to pull cylinder to check it out...ten days before pickup. Unless it can be determined without removing it. Is the difference visible through the loading gate? Or do I pull the pin for a visual? Thanks. Looks like a fun toy either way.

You can see it through the loading gate. Had to go check mine to confirm. Mine is missing the magnum cylinder.

Did get it for the $350 plus the usual DROS charge. Guess if it is a .22 magnum have to get some different ammo. Ready to take on Marshall Dillon and Chester...nah, probably lose that one.

Both are "recessed" for the case head. The LR cylinder has a "groove" in it, with the depth equal to the case recess.

Got it and grabbed some .22 WMR..dropped right in, so I guess it was manufactured with the proper barrel configuration for .22 mag. Cleaned her up, bore was perfect, and felt like Marshall Dillon until the wife called me in for dinner.
