Default Scored a stable of Colts...

Picked up some nice Colts today.

1920 Vintage 1911 re-blued sometime, but done right.
1969 Colt 1911 .45acp..I had the ivory. Old grips could
not be saved.
1978 Colt Python...about 95%.

Doing some research on the 1911 Clawson book.

Very nice! Enjoy. Couldn't tell what the damage is on the old 1911 grips. If they have shrunk and no longer fit, sometimes with heat they will expand enough to go back on. Or may that's not the problem. The ivories are great anyway.

Oh my, that's quite a "score"...more like a years worth for many, and you "scored" them all in one day. Impressive group, is there a backstory?

Fuzz all three are top shelf.

That Python looks 'bout new.

I'm glad your neighbors guns found a good home.

I'm assuming the plastic stocks on the '69 G.M. have shrunk. The ivory looks nice, but reproductions are available of the original plastic. Nice score though!!

If it were an M1911, 1915. It looks like a commercial pistol, so I think its 1920.

Those shrunken Coltwood slabs are a real pain. I managed to heat a set to relax them enough to get them back on a pistol but they pretty much shrank once they cooled down again. You can see the stretching at the screws.
