Thumbs up DiamondBack AR

I came across this DB AR on CDNN. For $499, with all of the parts it's built with, I don't think you can build one to these specs any cheaper. According to the ad, DB does all of their own parts and work in house.

CDNN SPORTS - DIAMONDBACK DB15 5.56 CARBINE

I'm not sure what "does all their own parts...in house" means, but I'd be really surprised if DB has started manufacturing bolts, carriers, barrels & receivers, in-house. Assembled from US made parts, sure.

Notwithstanding that AR specs are public knowledge, "an AR is an AR is an AR", and building a functional AR is probably easier than building a functional 1911-- DB customer service isn't outstanding. Roll the dice on whether you might need it.

AR prices will continue falling. There are makers with good support reps out there, as well.

Edit: If I wanted to buy a $499 AR tonite, I'd go with this one, before taking the chance of dealing with DB customer service again:

Radical Firearms .223/5.56 M4 FGS-12 Rifle
