Default HAWES Western Derringer 22 MAG

I recently came into possession of one of these little devils and can't seem to find much info on them.
Any idea when made?
Quality?
Made in Germany
KASHIE on grip frame
German proof marks
Thanks for any info you all can share.

I assume you mean the Hawes that copied a Rem O/U derringer?
I had them back in 70s when the Hawes SAs were popular. They
were made a little better than the other imports of the day. A
novelty gun, the only thing that was memorable was it had a
extremely heavy trigger pull. I had other German made copies
Herters sold one under their label, looked to be exact same gun
and manufacture. The 38sp model stung your hand with recoil.

I bought several Davis Derringers in the 90's, they look just about the same.

I have a HAWES 22mag that I got 45 years ago. word was they were made by SIG.
It has THE safest and fastest safety ever put on a derringer. Spring loaded button, it pops off
as the hammer is drawn back.
I designed and installed a copy of it on both of my 9mm Cobra derringers.
This style safety opens a whole new world of self defense for these little handguns.

I carried one in the late 60's and early 70's as a back up. If 20 or 25 were shot in a short time it was hard to extract the spent hulls. Other than that it gave good service.

Nice little pocket backup gun, something to hang on to. There are a few derringer aficionados like myself on this forum. There are jackets who pockets are too shallow for a J-frame, and a derringer will serve in this instance.
