Default Colt Cobra question

I have a Colt Cobra 1977 issue. Looking at replacing the grips and have noticed that some are specified as "long butt." Would mine apply? Thanks.

Can you show a picture of your Cobra? I'm quite sure that "long butt" means that the butt of the frame of the revolver is the same length as the grips, and the grips are flat on the inside, with no step. This is how my unshrouded 66 Cobra is, and even my 63 Dick Special. I'm pretty sure that by 77, both the DS and the Cobra had shrouded ejector rods and shortened frame butts. What was missing from the frame was filled in with wood in the grip panels.

Unless I'm missing something, your gun and "long butt" grips would NOT be a match.

Yes, it has the short grip frame. That change occurred sometime in the mid-1960s. I've never liked the Colts with the shrouded extractor rod and short grip frames.
