Default byf code luger

just picked this one up last week... a byf 41. the mauser code "42" P.08 was changed to "byf" in 1941.

these were the last of the lugers manufactured for the german military before being replaced by the P-38 in late 1942.

they were finished with a hot salt blue and intermittently supplied with black bakelite grips.

not sure why these were ever regarded as "last ditch" lugers. the quality of machining is equal to the earlier examples. ...anyway, the germans were winning the war at this point. not exactly scrapin the bottom of the barrel.

No pistol sits in your hand quite like a Luger.
