Ruger LCP
During a visit to a LGS, I spotted a cute Ruger LCP. It was so compact and light that it is now my carry pistol replacing an AMT .380 Backup. My wife took such a shine to it that we now have matching LCPs

I've got an original LCP and carry it every now and then. The only complaints I have, which have been addressed on the newer model, is that the sights are basically non existent and the slide doesn't lock back on an empty magazine, other than that it's a great little gun.

For almost 4 years, Ruthie and I have each been carrying LCPs.
To date they have been flawless and we have no plans for replacing them. We don't need the sights as we both point & shoot.
Congratulations and enjoy.

I also have one of the original LCP's with the tiny hard to see sights. My solution was a some nail polish on the front sight and a crimson trace laser guard. Well worth the money for the lcp. Completely reliable little gun that completely disappears in a front pants pocket.

I love mine. It has many miles on it now, and still functions 100%
Although not a target pistol, I can usually keep all shots on a paper plate at 15 yards.
I've dispatched several opossums with it.
In a pocket holster, it feels and looks just like a smart phone in my front jeans pocket.
I've recently seen the original versions for sale at around $200. In my opinion, that's about as good a deal as one will find in the gun realm today.

I carry a Custom LCP around my farm. It has a very good trigger for a striker fired pistol.

My main carry piece right now is my LCP, I don't leave home without it!

I bought a LCP when they very first came out, it was OK but not really any better than my Kel tec .380. The LCPs were highly sought after and difficult to get when first introduced and a guy wanted to trade me a German Sig P225 9m/m for mine and I turned him down(really dumb on my part). I later sold the Ruger and bought a Taurus TCP .380 which I liked better, and it had better sights, trigger, grip feel, and a slide release. The Taurus was a great gun but I traded it for something else, then later bought a Generation 2 LCP .380 for $199 shipped and this had even better sights and trigger pull and was about the perfect pocket pistol. However I was wanting a new 4 wheeler so the LCP and several guns got traded for a 2014 Yamaha 4x4 Grizzly, so now I have no pocket gun and am wanting the LCP II which has really great sights and a trigger so light I wouldn't want it one ounce lighter, I just want the cost to come down a little bit more.

LCP
I have over 1000 rounds through my LCP 12 different types of ammo never one failure of any kind. An early model.
Impressive.

I got hold of one of the early model LCPs and am totally satisfied with it.
You have to remember what this diminutive gun was designed for...a close-up and personal belly-button plugger. It was never intended to be a target pistol, so the need for better sights and a better trigger were superfluous in my opinion.
I've carried it concealed in a vest or coat pocket and have even, at times, packed it in the back pocket of my Wranglers.
When the situation prohibits me from concealing anything larger, this little LCP is always there.

My LCP has been reliable since day one. I added Pierce grip extensions, Wolff 12lb recoil springs, and a RTK Sweet Pea Trigger, to make the package complete.

I've had my LCP for over 4 years.
I filed the sights off and carry it quite a lot.
The slide has not rusted where the sights used to be.
Never fails to fire. Great BUG.

I have had the LCP about 4 times. Everytime I get one a family
member or friend "has" to have it. I am a cheerleader for them
as a carry gun for most people. You can have all kind of fancy
CCWs, but the LCP is of the size and weight that it's not a hassle
to carry. It is also durable and dependable. Sights to me on any
gun this small are not an issue. CCWs are for personal defense
not Target shooting. Contrary to popular belief a 380 will make
most humans "sick" enough, that they will take their mind of doing you harm. I've never owned one with laser, buddy has one.
He is deadly plinking with it at 15yds.

It's hammer fired.
I've been pocket carrying a early LCP with a hard chrome slide for years now. Has never missed a beat with a variety of ammo. So easy to slip in your pocket on the way out the door. Everybody should have one.

Ours is the older one. It was my wife's carry until she adopted the Glock 43 I bought. I still carry it in a pocket holster when the need for a smaller firearm is there. We've put a lot of rounds through it. Somewhere along the line, the guide rod got a bit rough. I replaced it, and tossed in some Wolf springs. Bought three different ones, to experiment, but just left the first one in. The guide rod is cheap; don't remember if I got the stainless steel or not. The knob on the end of the take down pin, also broke off, but they're only $1.99 to replace. It's easy if you watch an internet video, of pushing something skinny through the other side. The LCP will remain a keeper.

Size, weight, reliability, no miniature safety controls to fumble with and low profile sights perfect for a little pocket .380.
Ruger hit a home run with the LCP.
7yds
Need bigger sights?
