HA! I wondered about that but figured I was missing facts (no surprise) so I just liked the picture and said nothing.

Is that a made in Belgium assembled in Portugal model? Looks a lot like mine.

FN Herstal are all Belgium..(I Think).
FN owns Browning. All Hi Powers come off the same
assembly line...different roll marking close to
the end. All are assembled in Portugal staring in about the
mid 80's..FN's are not marked "Assembled in Portugal"
The flip side...

Fabrique National d'Armes de Guerre, Herstal, Belgique, is a factory in Belgium that was founded largely by Ludwig Loewe & family of DWM and owner of Mauser. After the contract to supply the Belgian military with Mauser rifles was won, Belgium wanted to produce them in their own country. Ludwig Loewe was one of the shareholders of FN and one of his brothers was director at Vickers in England.

FN Herstal is like Colt, Hartford, Conn.
