Default Wife Came Through Like a Champ

Yesterday I had an upper GI at the local hospital, and my best friend and wife of 52+ years was with me to drive me back home.
After it was all over and we were about to leave, I mentioned that I didn't have a knife with me to remove the ID wristbands that I was wearing. She spoke up and said: I have mine, the one you gave me. I then suggested we wait until we were safely in the car.
So, when we are in the car, she gets out her Buck 501 that I gave her many years ago when we deer hunted. As I remove the wristbands I notice the knife was very sharp, so I tried it on my arm. Sure enough, it still shaves. I guess she hasn't used it much since I sharpened it.
It makes me so proud of her, since she is the kinda dainty type, you probably wouldn't think she carried a nice Buck folding knife in her purse.

A good woman is hard to beat. I thank God for her every day.

Have a blessed day,

Leon

My wife of 45 years has carried a pocket knife since our first date. She had and still has, a tiny 10 cent knife her dad gave her when she was 6 years old. It has been long retired in a safe place. Over the decades she has carried and lost many. For the last decade she is carrying a bone handled Case peanut. My job every Sunday is to sharpen kitchen knives and pocket knives. I am amazed at her little Case. It is full of dirt from the lawn, sticky residue from packing tape, pocket lint, and grease from working on the mover. Every week it is dull and covered with something nasty. She is an interesting woman to say the least.

A good woman don't need no beating!

I know what you meant, just kidding. The Bible says,
Prov. 18:22 ¶ The man who finds a wife finds a treasure,
and he receives favor from the LORD.

We Italians relate everything to food, so grandma used to say of couples, "There is a cover for every pot". Turns out to be a quote from the French writer Balzac, but they know good food too.

Hope the reason for your GI turns out benign. Good luck.

Had an upper GIlast year. My Dr gives me a copy of the report (not the condensed version). They found "Barrett's Syndrome", a precursor to throat cancer, caused usually by gastric reflux (scarring of the upper throat caused by stomach acid eating the lining away). Question is, if it's gonna become cancer, why not remove it now?
