Here's my MKIII.

Always wanted one, just couldn't stomach the new price. Just happened to be at the right place, right time and picked up this rarely fired example for a fair price.

Has anyone heard of the Browning HP "One of 250"? It has a tangent sight and a slot for a stock. Comes in a pouch.
Thanks.

Enablers !
The Hi-Power has always been on my list, but prices seemed beyond what I wanted to spend.
After hanging out in this thread, I visited my LGS and found this low mileage 1990 MK III in box with 8 magazines and an extra set of grips. Price was reasonable <$800 and the extra mags and grips were a bonus. Finally joined the club.

If there was ever a 9mm pistol that is a "must have", it's the Hi-Power/P35. Congratualtions !!

Default Workhorse Brownings.

While visiting Salta, Argentina (2.5 hour plane ride north of Buenos Aires near the Bolivian border) I noticed that many of the uniformed male police were carrying Mark 3 Hi-Powers while the many female officers were packing what looked like Fns.

While I'm accustomed to richly blued Hi-Powers such as those illustrated in this thread, many of the Hi-Powers I saw were either ordered Parkerized or got to look that way from constant use in a country with a pronounced rainy season. These workhorse Hi-Powers sort of grew on me and I wouldn't mind owning one showing signs of long use, including holster wear, but not necessarily neglect.

Many High Powers were manufactured under license in Argentina by Fabrica Militar De Armas. These seem to have been finished or refinished to more utilitarian specs, and are available at pretty reasonable prices. Likewise for Israeli surplussed versions, available showing varying degrees of wear.

The base gun was of the kind that had the serial number on the frame rather than in the middle of the front grip strap. Can't remember the designation, but I think it had something to do with the grips that came on the pistol originally - maybe they were Pachmeyers and this started as a Practical model as shown in a post above. In any event the result was it made for a nice, clean checkering surface on the grip and Yost didn't have to checker around it.

Here's another BHP - this may be a FEG clone, come to think of it:
