Default 1892 Winchester SRC 44wcf

1919 vintage, been reblued and sling swivels added. Has a crude mark on the left side of receiver looks like a pine tree? Stamped Century arms import mark on lower tang. Any body know where this gun came from?

A good guess, as many were used there, especially in Brazil. Rossi still makes a copy of it. Sasha Siemel had a short carbine, which he used on those jaguars that he didn't spear.

But it was also sold a lot in Australia, where the govt. didn't want people owning more powerful rifles. And copies were made in Spain.

I can't see the mark well. Can you also post overall pics of the rifle?

The Royal Canadian Navy used some in WWI. And the M-92 was popular with Arctic explorers.

Without more to go on, you probably won't get a good answer. Ask Century Arms where they got them.

Looks like a simplistic image of the cedar tree found on the Lebanese flag. Their modern armed forces began during WW1 under French control.
Just a wild guess of course....
I don't think we can currently 'import' firearms from there but it could have found it's way to somewhere else where it was reachable.
Jimmyj's South or Central America is another good guess. These and the Spanish ElTigre carbines were very popular there.
