S&W M&P model 10 revolver or is it...
Yesterday I managed to pick up what I find to be pretty neat. I made a trade with an old timer down the road from me for a Spanish copy of the S&W M&P model 10. He's an avid bird hunter so I traded him an over under 12 Gage that I had won in a gun raffle. Let me know how I did!! Seems to be in great condition fans there is no play in the timing or pitting in the barrel I mean it's all original and in pretty great shape for a gun made in the earthly 1900's

The model 10 was issued to me in 1951.
This is an old photo of that fine revolver.

It is not a model 10. M&P more likely. I am no expert. Model 10's did not exist until 1957.

The Spanish copies ranged from pure-junk quality up to S&W standards. Yours would appear to be one of the better ones, based solely on the photos.

Probably an M&P copy?
Pre Model 10 had the short action that began around 1948 and became Model 10 when model marking started in 1957.

I did a little maintenance on Thursday evening after bringing home and I put 18 rounds down range early Friday morning before work. She shoots straight and has a very nice feel to her. Yes you're spot on it's a Spanish copy a CH revolver I traded a Remington/ Russian over under that I acquired in a gun raffle. I used it very lightly and the older gentlemen I had traded with does a lot of bird hunting so I know he will put it to good use. I probably lost out on the trade a little bit but that doesn't matter to me what matters to me is seeing the old man smile and using something I traded him to do his bird hunting. The man is 82 years old and he doesn't have many years left in the goose blind.

I'm no expert either and I appreciate the feed back just looking to learn a little bit more about the revolver. Possible date in which it was made. Cleaned her up real good and did an inspection before I put rounds on target. She shoots straight and has a real nice feel.

It's a Spanish CH revolver in 38 special. Real clean and shoots straight. Very nice pea shooter.

The shotgun I parted ways with was a Remington/Spartan SPR it looked nice but it was heavy and it didn't preform well as a trap gun. I just couldn't find any comfort with it so I decided to make an old man happy and trade him. He's in his 80's and found the gun to be a good bird gun which it is I've pheasant hunted with it numerous times. I took the revolver out yesterday morning before work and it shot really nice so I'm overall satisfied.

Sure it's not OH instead of CH? I can't tell from your picture. OH is Orbea Hermanos (Orbea Brothers) one of the more prominent Spanish makers of S&W copies. Your trade may not have been terrible, as most of the Spanish knockoffs I have seen are in fairly deplorable condition. However, it's tough to sell any of the Spanish copies for more than chump change. Collectors are few and far between.

He got something that made him happy and so did you. Sounds like a good trade to me.
