I've got several options, and have ended up with either my Kahr P380, or PM9, depending on the size of the pocket... . Both have been excellent guns, accurate and reliable.

I don't EDC a pocket gun. But when I take my dog for a walk in my neighborhood I drop my Gen 2 Ruger LCP in my pocket.

Quit stalling....I view my Ruger 77 .220 Swift with 20x scope as an upgrade for my Mini-14 when I can't see far enough with open sights. See? There's always a role for every gun, even if it's a back-up to the back-up.

My 21a was a champ. but I had to watch case length. CCI Stingers would occasionally hang up, but the (ever-so-slightly) shorter Mini-Mags worked great. It's been awhile, but if memory serves, they were the same length rounds, but the MM bullet was longer.

Ruger LCR in .327 Federal Magnum
This is the ideal CCW for the lady who has trouble racking the slide open on an semi-automatic. To add this revolver has an attractive double action trigger pull and holds 6 rounds as opposed to the 5 of most "J" frames. But its not made for women only and will do its job admirably.

love my old faithful 442, and it rode front pocket for almost 8 years. bought an LCP about 5 years back, and load it with 102gr. golden sabers. 7 round mag in it, another offhand side. lots will poo-poo the .380, but ain't no one volunteered to stand down range and let me pop 'em with it at work.

About as small as i go is my S&W MP40c
I can't trust anything smaller for Self defense.
Although i would be tempted with a Walther PPK.

I wouldn't want to be shot with a high powered BB gun but that doesnt mean I'd use it for self defense

If you put a bullet into a man's brain pan he usually will drop like a sack of potatoes. Shot placement is key, although a bullet needs to penetrate to do the job. But don't listen to me--I carry a 32acp, which makes me nuts.

When it comes to "small" handguns I have a S&W 640-1 in .357 (my current EDC),
a S&W 36 in .38 SPC, a Colt Mustang .380!
BUT, when it comes to dropping a handgun in my "pocket" I grab the Seecamp .32 ACP.
If I really have to get someone out of my face it will do it. It fits in a shirt pocket - making it easy to get to.

I carry an older 2" Colt Agent .38 special. I usually wear 5.11 cargo trousers.

Okay, I'll admit it, I'd prefer to carry a .45 or a .357 for personal defense. And, when conditions allow, I do.
However, when conceal ability makes carrying a larger handgun either impractical or impossible, my little LCP tucks very nicely into a vest pocket or the back pocket of my Wranglers. I would much rather have that handy than have nothing at all.
