Default Pocket guns

What does everyone like? For me I rotate between my Walther PPK, Polish P-64, and Colt Jr.

Usually a S&W snub.

I'd like one, but I haven't yet found a pocket auto that I fully trust. I'm personally really iffy with .380 being adequate for self-defense in general and reliability seems to be hit and miss with most models. A Glock 26 is my smallest autoloader and I have pocket carried it on occasion, but it's definitely on the large side for that role.

I used to carry a Colt Mustang Pocketlite, but after about 1500 rounds the breech of the steel barrel slamming down on the alloy frame every time it unlocked, began to peen the alloy. The sharp point at the bottom of the trigger also pinched my finger, very distracting.

Now I carry a S&W 638, with smooth Spegel grips and the front and rear sights appropriately painted with nail polish. I think checkered grips would abrade the shooting hand when firing +Ps from this light revolver.

The Beretta 21A has always been my favorite pocket gun. I can stick it in a pocket or in an IWB holster, and it's barely noticeable. While being a 22 and low in power, I can still shoot more consistently and accurately with the 21A than, say, a Ruger LCP.

Got to agree with mainegrw. That little Beretta in 22 short is about the tiniest gun I have ever seen. I think I have a picture of mine here somewhere. There it is. It's about like carrying nothing in your pocket. Won't kill much, but should scare most anybody if you have to start shooting. I agree with the other posters. . .the Glock 42 is a huge gun for pocket carry. The LCP is a much better alternative.

Carried a bodyguard.380 for a few years. About 2 months ago I started carrying my little Ruger LCR .38. The .380 is now in the safe.

Back to my 642. I had a Remington RM380 that was much flatter, but it was confiscated by my wife. I have also used a Bersa Thunder, but in the end, I always come back to the 642.

My nickel Model 37 is what I've recently gone back to pocket carrying. Before that it was my LCP, which is easy and has been reliable, but my comfort still lies w/a J frame.

That Beretta is a nice gun. It's about the same size as my Colt Jr in the first pic except my Colt is .25 acp

I acquired a Seecamp .32 last Sunday. It is a handful. At ten yards I can stay on a sheet of paper. At ten feet I can stay on a Coke can. It is a "get off me" gun.

The Sig P250sc is on my hip now, the Seecamp is in my pocket.

I opted for my M49 and a P32 but an M38 will replace the M49 when I find a shooter grade.

I carried a Colt Mustang for about 20 years everyday.
Fussy about ammo but luckily it was 100 % with Hydra Shocks.
Just got tired of paying too much for 380 ammo and sold it.
Alraedy load for 44 and just bought a SIG 320SC so my new pocket gun will probably be a pocket nine of some sort.
Although a Charter Bulldog wont be out of the question.
I have seen a few options in the pocket 9's .

In the past I was a "Closet Glock CCW" and mindful that the S&W Forum Enforcement Squad could swoop in for a weapon check at anytime, I also CCW a S&W "J" 2". After getting "Stunned Slapped" several times by said enforcement squad and fearful that my one working brain cell might be getting damaged, I now CCW a S&W "K" with a six inch barrel, a straight razor, a hand grenade, a recent soiled depends, and a portable flame thrower. (p.s. I shop at Wal-mart)

For pocket carry,,
CZ-45 (25acp,,D/A only) works out nice for me most of the time,,if not then a 32HE 2".
During the winter months with heavy clothing I wear a vest under my coat and I usually carry a Walther P=1 or a S&W M&P 38 in the inside left side breast pocket. Either carries very nicely there,,comfortable, concealed and easy to get at. I use a LH IWB holster clipped into the pocket to carry the pistol, Works out nice,
.

Default Airweight

Carried one of these Airweights in a Robert Mika pocket holster that he makes at home (they're great) on his sewing machine. With the 110 grain expanding copper bullets I kept the entire package under a pound. Served me well until arthritis in my hands eventually forced me into an auto. Now, I find a Kahr CW380 slips in and out of my front pocket as easily as a set of car keys.

I am currently without. I would prefer to carry my glock 43. I shoot it well and it's quick to reload. I don't however feel comfortable carrying it in my pocket because of its shape and it's not as easy to draw as my model 60. I carried my 60 until it recently began having failure to fires on a few rounds at the range. I've had to retire it until I get it straightened out. I have an apex kit that will be here in a few days and hoping it restores my confidence. If so my 60 will return. If not I will find pockets that my 43 fits in and buy new pants and shorts. I may be about to take another job where pocket will be my main mode of carry

Cargo shorts buddy. When I buy I stick my hand in the front pocket to see how deep and big the pocket is.

Based on recommendations from several people here I'm looking closely at the LCP. But on the whole I'm still happy with the 640 .38 special I've carried for years.

Just as well, I need the money for the LCP for other purpoises.

Me too. I mostly pocket carry at home, though. If it's cargo shorts, it's my 442. Athletic shorts or "lounging" pants is usually a P3AT.

I traded a Beretta 21a several years ago, and now kinda wish I'd kept it, but it really doesn't do anything better than the Kel-Tec.

I have trouble having sights on a pocket gun. Some of the things you guys tuck away is impressive!

Default pocket gun

Even though I own only this one, I've always been intrigued with the little purse/vest pistols of the last century. This little .25 acp Ortgies is nearly a hundred years old, and displays precision German engineering of yore, and is still a fun and reliable little gem

No room in my Wrangler's........ but in the summer with cargo shorts and Tee or Polo..... a J-frame 337PD......... 12oz and 5 rounds of .38 goodness.

From about 1985- to 3913 my suit gun was a Walther .380 PPK........ like the original post...............

There is no such thing as "knock down" power from a handgun......and few if any "one shot stops"; fast enough to prevent someone from returning fire or stabbing you........ I'm a firm believer in "double taps" and that no one likes to be shot with anything...... .22, .357 or .45.

That said; I still like a minimum of 9mm or .38spl............ thou I will still carry that old PPK when wearing a tux or attending a new Bond movie!

For the first time ever, I have an opportunity to pick-up a near-new Seecamp .32 at a semi-reasonable price. It's still a big investment by mouse gun standards, in part because it's supposedly the smallest "listed" handgun available (legally, from dealers) here in MA. Anyone that can help me with that decision, please do so!

I have a ton of em... but the only 2 I carry with the expectation that I may actually need it is an old smith non lock 642 and a 60's Colt agent.

I am a jeans and T-shirt or polo shirt guy and I never have been interested in pocket carry. J-frame appendix or something a little bigger back of the hip. Summertime it is blue jean shorts and the same options. The only thing I own that could be pocket carried in what I wear is my little Astra Cub in .22 Short. Same gun as the OP's Colt Jr but different caliber. I would not carry it with one in the chamber either.

Oldster, I love these old .25s, but frankly I feel under gunned with them and only shoot them as a novelty. I do appreciate the history of the old vest/purse mouse guns of yore, and yours certainly looks like a nice example.

Started carrying my Shield 9mm in an Uncle Mikes pocket holster a few months ago. Now wearing cargo pants most days instead of jeans. I often forget it's there.

My Model 36 loaded with Winchester PDX1 Defenders (130grain, +P) carried in cargo pocket (summer) or outside flap pocket of my A-2 jacket (cool weather) in Mika pocket holster.

My main pocket carry is a Charter Arms .44 2.5" loaded with Speer Gold Dots. Sometimes a Taurus PT145 Millennium.45 11shot. I also have a Body Guard 380, but I'm not too confident in that round. I'm ordering a Kahr CM40 this week. Less than 5.5" long and 15.8 oz of .40 sounds real good to me.

Remember the Nike slogan, "Just do it!"? You know guns, you understand what a Seecamp is and what it is for, and you want it, so "Just do it". Unless you are a huge person, large hands will not work with a Seecamp.

I have average hands. Here is my son's Seecamp in my hand.

This ancient FN .25 is always reliable and likes to go on walks with me.

The gun has intrigued me for a long time, in part because of its history/story and it's New England (CT/MA) manufacture. I've watched all the videos and read a lot in the Seecamp forum, both pro and con... and I'll admit that some of the "cons" do concern me.

I'm not the kind of guy who can go spent $500+ on a fancy, jewel-like novelty... so it has to make good sense or forget about it. And there is some tough competition (in my mind) from the Ruger LCP and Kahr P380/CW380... albeit guns that cannot be readily/easily obtained in my moonbat state due to our ridiculous "lists"... while the Seecamp *is* available.

I view the Seecamp .32 as a possible upgrade to my Beretta 950BS in a super-micro pocket pistol and a possible upgrade to my Bodyguard .380 as well. These are the two choices I have right now for a pistol to carry when I can't carry a pistol. Is the Seecamp .32 a worthwhile improvement over them? That's the $500+ question.
