New gun issue: send it in or just keep?
My new SIG P220 has a very tiny 'ding' on the aluminum frame rail, where the slide meets the frame. Haven't shot it yet, saw the tiny flaw when I went to grease and lube. It's on the bottom rail in the photo.
Will this affect the gun's integrity / durability? Here are my options:
1) complain to SIG
2) ignore it and just run the gun, keep it clean, and use it.
Opinions? Thanks.

Me?, I would just run the gun as is, and forget about it. It does not appear to be a functional issue. Any working gun is going to show finish defect soon enough. If it bothers you, then send it back. You don't want it always in the back of your head bothering you.

I doubt it will be an issue. You can call SIG just so they know customers are paying attention, but I would not think they would have you send it back unless the slide is locking up or hesitating because of it.

We've got to get you a girlfriend!! ... I'm pretty anal about damage but the tiny ding I could see isn't visible unless you remove the slide. It's nothing - I wouldn't even bother SIG. If you want to see some dings to bother you - just pull the slide off of a 3rd Gen aluminum framed auto. Mine are all dinged up - but they continue to work perfectly ...

The ding is harmless. But removing about 90% of that grease wouldn't be a bad thing.

Run it and have some fun.
Won't hurt a thing.
I wouldn't send my gun back to the factory for
that. It might come back worse from them handling it.

Just shoot it. They will not do anything about it anyway.
