Default Colt

What's happening with them? I hate to see this iconic gun manufacturer having financial difficulty. Perhaps their new Cobra revolver will get them back on the right track.

This does not sound good. I'm not a Colt guy, but I hope they can turn things around. I'd hate to see another old line and respected American company close up shop.

I thought Colts was on the up n' up?

I highly doubt the company will fail. It's come close, but it will not happen. They're too important and we as shooters owe them a whole lot. They still make the only TRUE M1911 pistol on the market, all others are fakes. Also keep in mind they recently reintroduced their vaunted Cobra revolver which will not doubt be an amazing seller.

I wouldn't lose any sleep over this, the rampant pony isn't going anywhere. Colt has an amazing legacy and incredible story, they're "too big (read: important) to fail" and again we as community are indebted to them and I think a Colt pistol or now, revolver, should be pushed up on everyone's short list ASAP.

Read the blog in the OP's attached link, and the jist I get is the Custom Shop supervisor was fired, and possibly a Canadian plant was shut down. Everything else is speculation, and noted to be so by the writer.

I am pulling for them, and understand a compact snubby being their first revolver re-introduction. Everyone wants a Python, but when it comes to laying down cash, its compact self defense guns that sell...
