Was able to get to the range today with 3 1911's: Ruger SR1911 (.45), S.A.M. (.45) and AM Classic II (.38 Super). I have been working on the SAM for good functioning and had put a new bushing and slide stop on the gun. Had to do a fair amount of filing on the slide stop because it was occassionaly pushing the cartridges down and preventing feeding. Got that sorted out and the gun ran 100% today on about 80 rounds.
I had to send the AM in for service because I could not get it to feed reliably. The smith did a good job and the gun ran 99% today with one round that hung up on the upper chamber and needed a push on the slide to get into battery. What a nice gun to shoot and very accurate.
The Ruger did what Rugers usually and ran 100% and shot great.
I have a sight pusher on order that is in USPS limbo and when it comes I can fine tune the windage on the guns and I am going to install a lower front sight on the SAM as it shoots consistently low. Come on USPS. :dope:
