Bersa .380 - before the "Thunder"?
Memory check, please.....
I recall owning a Bersa .380 quite some years ago, traded it for a Model 10 snubbie......and maybe a few dollars....
I do NOT recall this gun being a "Thunder" model. If I am correct, what did Bersa make and what was it called before he Thunder was produced?
Or am I nuts? (Likely.)
Thanks.

Maybe a Bersa 85 or 86? I run across them on Gunbroker when I search for "Bersa 380."
There was also a Bersa 383, which was before the 85 & 86. All pretty similar looking.

And darn good guns for the money. My Thunderer has a phenomenal trigger in the first shot double action, as well as the single action follow up shots. Poor mans PPKs

There was also a model 83 which I owned one. It was an improved version of the 383. It was a great little handgun almost like a Walther PPK and I used it as a CCW for several years.
Kind of sorry I sold it.

Yes there was, a friend had one, and I shot it also. Without commenting on my opinion of .380 ctg, I worked fine, and did everything that could be expected of a gun of this type. Not as finely finished as the equivalent Beretta, but reliable and suitably accurate.
FWIW, he carried in diagonal shoulder holster over tee shirt, under regular shirt.

My wife has a Bersa 22 a number of years ago. It was called a "Firestorm."
I think the 380 was called the same.

The new Bersa Firestorm is the only Bersa.380 permitted here in California under their "acceptable firearms" judgment. I have one, neat little gun, easy to disassemble and clean. Limited rounds (7, I believe) and some have locks built into the frame. I like mine, sort of a James Bond feel to it, but it isn't a looker (flat black finish). Will probably be my CCW #1 due to size (allowed up here to qualify with up to four handguns).

Model 83 - yes, I think that's the one. Thanks!
I see references to equivalent Beretta. How much difference in size is there between the Bersa M 83 and the Beretta Model 85?
