Its a HOSS!

I picked this up today. 1973 Colt Trooper Mark III.
The gun is in excellent condition, the finish is near perfect and there's one small knick in the bottom of the right grip. Timing and mechanics are spot on.
This gun has been languishing on Armslist for a little over a month now. I had inquired about it when it was first posted, but decided the price was a little higher than I wanted to pay. Besides, I'm more of a S&W guy.
Today, out of the clear blue, the seller e-mailed me back. Wanted to know if I was still interested, he dropped the price a good bit and threw in two boxes of ammo. Now how could I turn down a deal like that?
Unfortunately, I'm still recovering from cataract surgery. So it will be at least several weeks before I'll be able to try it out.
I just wanted to show off the latest addition to the stable.

I have a MK V. I really like the deep blued finish on these guns. Mine supposedly has not been fired and it looks like that might be true. I still haven't shot it but I am tempted.
I find higher priced guns often don't sell to well on armslist.

Congratulations. Mine is a few years younger and a little shorter.

A nickel, 4" MKIII was my first handgun so I've always had a soft spot for them. Mine is still unfired but I may change that one day.

Great find! I thought the Colt Trooper Mark III was always a sleeper. While everyone was searching and saving for a Python, back in the 80's. I bought a nickel plated Mark III, it was awesome, and it didn't break the bank! I used to shoot competitively, and it was definitely up to the task.

I know I'll get a beat-down for saying this, but I personally think the Colt Trooper Mark III not only looks better, I strongly believe it is better, than a Python. It won't cry, and fall out of time, if you actually shoot it, and you don't have to shelter it in your safe 24/7!
