Default Source for Vintage Parts for 1911 and 1911A1?

Anyone have a good source for vintage parts for Colt 1911s and 1911A1s? This includes WWII Ithacas and Remington Rands as well. And by "vintage", I mean WWII and before.

Not looking for repro/modern manufactured parts...looking for the genuine article, either NOS or just plain used. Amount of finish remaining or type of finish is pretty much irrelevant...blued, parkerized, whatever.

Thanks.

When I was building affordable 1911's in the 80's & 90's, the vast majority of my parts were WWII surplus parts from parts vendors at the OGCA shoe in Columbus, Ohio. As word got around, all the gunsmiths and many of the gunshops in the area knew I would buy assorted parts, and I would walk in and they would say they had something for me, then usually set a really good price. The understood idea was I took everything and didn't argue over price (usually in round numbers like $10,$20, or once $100 always in cash).

Except for frames I still have enough to put 2 or 3 together now, So I keep everybody's old 1911's running at church.

If you are looking for a specific part for a brand of 65 year old gun, There are companies in Shotgun News and elsewhere, but you will be paying TOP $!

You may want to try Firearm Parts & Accessories | Military Surplus | Numrich Gun Parts. Good luck with your search.
