Default Dan Wesson CCO?

**Update, I guess it wasn't meant to be. We couldn't agree on a price and I just had to dump close to $800 in my Tahoe so couldn't comfortably spend the extra on the CCO. I could swing a new Shield in .45 though so at least I'll still end up with a new .45 ccw piece**

I've been offered a very lightly used (1 box of ammo through it) CCO by a friend of an instructor I train with. It looks awesome, he doesn't like the .45acp (something obviously wrong LOL) so it's up for sale.

I've owned/own lots of 1911s over the years (besides learning to shoot a handgun with one 48 years ago)-Colt (some customized by Novak & Wilson), Les Baer and a full ground up custom on a Caspian slide/frame with all high end components.

I know nothing about the Dan Wessons. I love the idea of the CCO model and I'm ready to say "yes" but wanted to see if anyone here has any first hand experience.

Thanks.

I have a DW Guardian (9mm). Runs like a scalded cat.

You won't be talking me out of mine.

Dan Wesson 1911s are a fine quality firearm for the money, a lot of bang for the buck. Right up there with the semi-customs at a better price.
I'm down to three right now and wouldn't hesitate to take on a couple more.

I hate to think how much money and time I wasted on various 1911s until I bought my Dan Wesson ECO.
You're very fortunate in having this opportunity to get one early in the game as, in my experience, DW makes an excellent, dependable, accurate and beautifully finished pistol.

This is what I've heard....... IIRC they are owned by CZ.

I have a Sig CCO size 1911 C3 ( found it "un-used" at a great price) with Wilson mags it's still 7+1 and perfect size for concealed carry........ and all the reliability of a Commander length slide.

I have no experience with the cco, but I do have a Heritage, and it is very well put together. The build quality is leaps and bounds better than the competition in the right at $1k price range. I think Dan Wesson is the best 1911 you can get under $1,500.

I have and carried a DW CCO in 10mm for years..

I carry a smaller gun now that I'm in town, but the CCO never hiccuped once.
