I have a 32-20 Colt Bisley in similar condition and it's a great shooter. These old Colts are historical and fun to still use and they are one of the primary reasons I got into gun collecting in the first place.
Congratulations on a nice grouping.

A lot of history there. I like "used" guns as well.
Here's some I picked up at an auction a while back.

I'm having trouble following the post. Look as I may, I can't find any rust or surely a pile of rust. Those old guns didn't have the durable finish todays guns have. They even may have seen some sun and rain out being used.

You have a great collection of "characters" there. Honest old patina, IMHO, is much nicer ( and authentic) than any "new" gun

Yep. These fit right in. Beautiful ivories on that Remington. I think Buffalo Bill's earliest known pistol was just like that.

Don't you wish that they could talk? Who owned and used them? Maybe a cowboy's working gun to shoot coyotes or a shopkeeper's gun kept handy "just in case". That 1858 Remington or 1860 Colt could have been carried by one of Gen. Pickett's men at Gettysburg.

I wish I could waterboard all these old guns of mine and make them talk. There are endless gunfights, shootouts, crimes, and heroic deeds done my many famous and infamous people we read about but the guns they used are unknown. We might own them but we'll never know. But they have to be somewhere. It's sad when history gets separated from a gun.
