Any Glock26 lovers? Opinions on adding one.
Been a bit since I've added a new pistol and was thinking a 26 gen4. Size not a issue as far as carry just think I need one 34,17L,19,36,30,41 already got a home. So I'm thinking a 26,17,21 sounds like the next move. Been carrying my newly acquired M&P45 last month or more really enjoyable and great pistol. Thanks.

I've had a G19 (Gen2) since they came out and added a Gen4 G26 a couple years back. It's a very good little Subcompact and shoots just as well as the G19.

Had a Gen 3, G26. Liked it but after several years I sold it and bought a Gen 3, G19. Much happier with the G19. Nothing wrong with having both but if I could only have one of these two it would be the 19.

I have a Gen4 G26 - and also a G19. Although I like the G26, I think I would've been better off with just a G19. The G26 is too big and too heavy for pocket carry - versus my G43 with is perfect for that. I did put the Streamlight TLR-6 (think that's what it's called) on the G26 and it makes for a pretty slick night stand rotation.

The G19 fit my hand better, so I bought it. But, it probably won't get much holster time since I got a couple 3913s.
^^^That's me.
The G19 is one of the best all-around guns IMO. Small enough to carry, enough barrel to shoot accurately (for us non-competition shooters), plenty of capacity and low recoil. Get the 19. You can even be tacticool and get the OD green frame like I did.
Edit:
Just saw you already have one lol

Yes...loved my 26..and still do...BUT...for me..at AIWB concealed carry I had to switch to a single stack for comfort (weight and all day carry comfort) plus moved to 45acp so the Shield exceeded my requirements..but add a 26 to your collection....Yes !!!!!

Never cared for the 26. My daily carry for close to a decade has been the 19 and I have 2X19, 2X17, 2X21, 22, 23, 43 but I never cared for the 26/27. Not enough grip and when a pinky extension is added it's the same size as the 19.
I do have a 43, which is the 26 cut in half length wise. But I carry that one strictly when I need something small and very concealable

Another vote for the 26. For me, it carries a little better than my 19. Just as accurate as the 19, and utterly reliable. I am a blued steel & walnut guy, but after carrying a variety of service sidearms, and training folks with a variety of others, that 26 is still my every day carry choice (except for the occasional wild hair day when I pack a compact 1911). I have big hands, and find it controllable and easy to shoot by simply wrapping my little finger under the grip. The 19 allows me to get all my fingers on the grip, but my little finger often slips off during recoil, making me feel like I have less control than the 26. YRMV.

This is my fourth Glock 26, a Gen.4. I still have the first one I ever bought, a Gen. 2.5. Sold the second one, also a Gen. 2.5, to a forum member. Sold the third, a Gen. 3, to my son. I like the Glock 26, but prefer the Glock 19 (I have two, both Gen. 2). I don't need the interchangeable backstraps or ambi mag release capability.
I have this one listed on a local forum.

Got a 27 does that count? Love it and glad I bought it!
I do use it as a CCW as well, for me it carries well!

I bought a Gen 3 Glock 26 on the advice of a few friends. They told me how concealable it was and how it disappeared in your front pocket or in an IWB holster.
I didn't like it when I first picked it up but talked myself into buying it thinking I would learn to like it since I was getting one hell of a deal. The gun, CT Laser, 12 magazines, night sights, and extended slide release all NIB for a REDICULOUS low price.
Guess what? It just didn't work well for me. IWB carry felt like a piece of scrap 2 x 4 lumber was shoved in my waste band. Pocket carry? Not unless all your pants are cargo pants.
One of my sisters, a college level instructor was looking for something small to carry since Tennessee now allows staff to carry on campus. The Glock 26 worked great for her, much better than it did for me.

I've had one since 2009 and it's a great little gun. I have pocket carried it, but it is large for that role. As an extremely compact belt gun, it is fast out of the holster and extremely accurate and shootable for a gun its size and it also accepts the higher capacity mags of the Glock 19/17/18. The only thing I've added to mine are the GAP magazine floor-plates which enhance grip for drawing, recoil management and weapon retention.

Currently carry a 19 and had a 26 but got rid of it. G43 took it's place.

I don't currently have a 26, but do have a 27 (.40 cal). I was carrying a G22 for duty before I retired, so I figured it would make a good back-up gun.
I'll probably get a 26 soon. I like the versatility of the 26/27. You can always run a longer mag/grip extension if you want. Or if you need something smaller (flush mag or pinky extension), you still have 10/11 rounds of firepower.
This one has a +2 mag extension on it, so I have a total of 12 in the gun. It usually goes with me on walks in a fanny pack, or when I want something a little smaller than my 23.

I used to own a 26 Gen4. While I could shoot it well, I absolutely detested the 26. It provided me no compromise advantage over the 19. If my attire is conducive to concealing a 26, it is also conducive to concealing a 19. Outside of the CZ in my carry rotation, the Glock pair I use for carry is a 19 and 43.
While I shoot the Glock 43 well, I absolutely detest the experience. The compromise of sacrificing size and capacity for true ease of thin, single stack, "pocket" 9mm concealment when my attire or event isn't conducive to carrying a larger pistol is worth it to me.

I have to pile on here as another G19 vote. I have one I have been carrying daily most of 25 years. The darn ugly thing just works well and hides pretty well in most situations.

My hands are not large, so I'll just say the G26 fits like a glove. Beneath the trigger guard there is an impression that aligns between only two fingers. My little finger just finds somewhere to hold up to or against. I never really even think about it. The extended mag does not tuck away as nicely, so the heck with it.
If I really need somewhere for my pinkie, the 17-round G17 mag does quite well. Accuracy? I'll just say I was surprised. I really like the 26 a lot!

I love my Glock 26. As a hard core revolver guy, its the only semi that I like and I end up carrying it 50% of the time (the other 50% is a 686+). I carry the glock when kayaking, working dusty jobs like running a chainsaw, or just as a lighter carry when I wake up with a sore back.

I too love my 26. IMO the most firepower in an easily concealable package with absolute reliability. I went through several EDCs before being assimilated by the Glock universe.
I normally carry with a Pearce +2 that also makes it a lot easier to hold on to. Carry a G17 mag with a +2 in a pocket mag carrier (or that mag pocket in 5.11 pants). 34 9mm +Ps carried, not too shabby.

G19 and G26
I had a first generation Model 26 That ran the entire fourteen years I owned it without a single stoppage of any kind. I sold it because, while it is allegedly a compact, if you lay it atop a G19 you'll realize how close they are in size. I don't need or want multiples of essentially the same gun as I do own the G19.

I like the 19 better than the 26 but I do have a gen4 26. I also have 3 19s. Id say try a G33 if your not dead set on a 9mm. same size as a G26 but hotter round.

There are so many more interesting pistols. Beretta PX-4 Compact for example.

I don't know about you but I buy mine based on track records not how interesting they are. Boring is good, boring is reliable. Being tucked into a holster 12 hours a day is no more or less interesting than any other gun. PX isn't any cheaper. PX is thicker at 1.4 wide vs 1.18.

I won a 26 years ago at a Glock match. As others have noted, I carry my 19 rather than the 26. Given the list of Glocks you have, in your shoes I would buy a 43.

Since you already have a 19 go ahead and get the 26. It is my favorite Glock.

I do agree, if you're only going to have 1, a 19 is a great choice.
I got the 26 partly because it's uber reliable but mostly because I already had a 34 with lots of magazines. I do CC the 34 from time to time, but mostly in cold weather when I'm going to be outside with a coat on. It also conceals well under a sports jersey. Heck you can conceal a Mossberg Shockwave and a MAC-10 under a sports jersey that's a size too big.

Have owned a gen3 26 for a long time. It's the smallest gun that shots as well as any full size for me. I do OWB carry it from time to time and have pocket carried it with cargo pants/shorts. Works for me.

I carry the .40 cousins of the G19 and G26. In my usual slob mode of dress the 23 hides just fine in a Glock polymer belt slide holster. The G27 does duty when I travel to restricted states. It hides a wee bit better when I dress a little nicer when visiting my son who lives in an anti gun city.

It seems that people either love or hate (well, dislike maybe) the G26. I have to agree with Arik and Federali though, except in .40S&W. I have had two different G27's and eventually got rid of both because I saw no advantage over a G23 size-wise. Especially when you add a pinky extension or a + baseplate the "compact" is nearly the same size as the G19/G23. And, without some kind of extended magazine device, the grip was marginal, at least for me. I tried to like those G27's, but kept going back to the G23 - and now I have three of them.

IMHO, I don't feel the 26/27 are nearly the same size as the 19/23. I carry my 23 most of the time. But there are times where a shirt I'm wearing fits a little shorter & tighter than what I'll normally wear. This is were I can tell the difference with the shorter slide/butt of the 26/27. Less "printing" of the gun (I wear an OWB holster). And it's lighter than the 19/23, but with adequate firepower.
I've always felt the 19/23 was the "perfect" size gun for EDC with the right amount of firepower. But personally, there are times when the 26/27 fits the bill for carry.

I have Gen 4 M19, M26, and M43. I seldom carry the G26 but have no desire to get rid of it. If you put a mag extension of any kind on the M26 the height of it is pretty close to the height of my M19 but with less rounds on tap. I have found myself carrying my M43 more and more but usually have a +2 extension on the inserted mag which also makes it pretty tall. I just like the weight and thinness of the M43.
The M26 shoots wonderful and I still qualify with it every year on the same course of fire used for sidearm requals and generally score 100% with it and the M43 as well.

This has been my exact experience. I've had a 19 (Gen 2) since brand new and a few years ago bought a 26. I carry the 26 and the 19 is a safe queen. I shoot the 26 just as well, if not better then the 19.
If you are going to conceal carry, the 26 is definitely not a bad choice but I think if the 43 was available when I got the 26 I would've gone that route instead.

Like all Glocks. Gotta bunch of them, a bunch. They put me in the notion of our chicken house shovel. Works great, just not much pride of ownership. One thing guarantees a big laugh and much slapping on the back here. Happens everytime one of our shooters says...Wanna see my new Glock? We've seen it, it's black and square! Back to OP..Get it.

Well don't laugh, but there are Glock collectors out there. Yeah, I think it's dumb too. There's a house in my neighborhood where the guy has about 20 Geo Metros/Storms on his property. Parts cars I am sure. To me, about the same thing.
I do have a friend with one of those G17 "New World Order" guns that came out after Desert Storm. One of the very few collectible/commemorative guns in the Glock line. He uses it as a bedstand gun

Dogwalk
Recently bought a G 26 Gen 4 to add to my Glock collection. Also ordered a El Paso Saddlery Combat Express Belt Slide Holster from Midway USA, that is perfect for the 26.

I'm not a G26 lover or hater. I have a G27, my first Glock, and have no complaints except for it being ugly.
Damnit, I'll say it...they are good SD guns.
Ugly, soul less, but very light and easy to carry and effective.
They have their place. The G26 is the epitome of high cap, light and accurate.
I'm done

G26 gen4 I keep in my truck and G19 gen 4 I usually keep on my hip. Plenty of 19/17 mags to go around.
Before you buy, try the G19/4.

I bought my first ever Glock (G17.4) back in November 2016. I just recently sold it. I just couldn't get used to the pistol grip ergonomics. But, if I were to give Glock another chance I would buy a G32. The Sig .357 and S&W .40 caliber rounds are (2) of the best bullets made, IMO.

I'm very fond of my Gen 2.5 G26.
Conceals well with the GAP finger extension..
Gen 2.5 G33 is nice too..
