To me, old 1911's with that "lived in look" are as beautiful as road worn vintage guitars.
Congrats.

Nice. Particularly like milled trigger. I believe colt went to the stamped trigger designed by Ithaca in 1944?

Yes, 1944.
Now I'm on the lookout for a $$$US&S$$$
I'll go ahead and write off the singer.

Very nice gun. I also really want a US&S 1911. They were made about 45mins away, so they have a special meaning to me. They also command big bucks too.
Maybe they should call these Lend, Lease, Release guns?

serious envy. I have a WWII Remington Rand, and would love to add a Colt of the same, or older vintage.

Thanks guys. It's hard to stop at just one of these. The US&S may be above my pain threshold for a single gun purchase.
I may set my sights lower at an early Remington rand with the different rollmark.

Very nice addition and over all collection. Every one needs a 1911 or 1911a1.

Here are my three 1911A1s:
1. Colt.
2. Remington-Rand.
3. Ithaca.
I don't have a Singer or US&S. With the prices they bring today, I doubt I ever will.
