Colt Police Positive Snubbie
By serial number (210xxx), it dates to 1925.
It is a Police Positive .32 w/ a 2 1/2" bbl. Colt started using wood stocks circa 1924
Some previous owner was kind enough to decorate it with their initials. Hence, the good deal I got on it. I should actually thank them for that!
Best,
Charles

Interesting. I think this was cut down. The front sight placement doesn't look right for Colt factory work.
The later Detective Special sometimes came with a three-inch barrel option.
Yes, I know the difference between a Police Positive and a Police Positive Special.

I'll see your initials and raise you an entire name with middle initial!
That (and the NYPD shield number on the butt) was actually the main reason I bought this 1915 Colt Police Positive.

Nice looking pistol. I have an old Colt Police Spl.38 4 inch barrel. I picked it up around 50 years ago. Haven't fired it in years. . It is a bit light for my taste. Would probably conceal IWB very well. I preferred a heavier revolver in those days. I have it packed away and haven't really looked it over for many years. Guess I should check it out and maintain it. I also have a Colt Diamondback 4 inch 38 Spl.. I did enjoy carrying it on duty OWB. Really fine shooting weapon. At that time all issued duty firearms were revolvers. The Border Patrol carried Colts which were much sturdier and were not so prone to damage. S&Ws were much a more finished pistol and wouldn't take much abuse.

This one is going to be all original w/ a 2 1/2" bbl. which was a standard Colt offering for years.
Here is my 2 1/2" New Police .32 from Providence R.I. PD from 1908 that letters w/ this barrel length:
I also have a Pocket Positive .32 in the same length.
Best,
Charles
