Picked This Up at the Gunshow Today
[IMG] [/IMG]
CZ2075 Rami in .40 (new old stock produced in 2014). I've been looking for a Rami. Even bid on a few on gunbroker which all went for more than MSRP. I really wanted a 9, but settled for the .40 as soon as I held it. Picked it up for a little under MSRP. Now to get it out and shoot it.

I've been thinking of getting a 40, too, due to the scarcity of 9mms

Very nice! A friend of mine is selling me his 9mm RAMI, as soon as I get a couple guns moved. Already sold one today, hopefully the other will get sold within a week. I can't wait to get my hands on it.

This morning my son and I went to the range. Between the two of us we put 105 rounds of Remington 180 gr. ball and 15 rounds of Sig Sauer hollow points (also 180 gr.) through the little CZ Rami. It's a snappy little thing, but is a bit easier on the hand than my LC9S is. I imagine that is a factor of its greater mass as well as the wider grip. I can only get a two finger grip with the flush magazine which makes the recoil more difficult to control. The extended mag adds enough for a full grip offering more control.
I had a single failure to feed with the third magazine, but no other malfunctions with either the ball or the hollow points. I was a bit worried since I've read some reviews by people who claimed to have problems with the Rami in .40. Accuracy is decent, but like most small pistols I tend to shoot a few inches low with it. I know from experience that's my lack of skill rather than the inherent accuracy of the pistol. Perhaps I'll improve eventually, but I doubt I'll ever be a great marksman. In the meantime I compensate by elevating the front sight slightly above the rear and placing it where I want to aim. I have to do that with my LC9 and my sub compact Taurus as well.
I did notice that unlike most pistols I can feel the slide closing after the shot. It can be a bit distracting. The only time I have noticed that with other pistols is when shooting steel cased ammo that is less slick than brass cases. I don't recall feeling that early on, so maybe it's a result of fouling after a few magazines. I suppose it could also result from the very stiff magazine springs holding the rounds tightly against the feed lips. I'll want to shoot it a couple more times before I decide to carry it, but so far so good. If it pans out I'll have to start looking for some HST or Gold Dots in .40.
