Beretta M9s Through DCM?
Now that the U.S. Military is moving to the SIG pistol, and considering that we have a gun-friendly administration, I'm wondering if the Beretta M9s will be offered to the public. They're allegedly in ratty condition but I'm sure they're quite serviceable.
The Beretta is perhaps the smoothest firing 9mm I've ever fired.

I cannot imagine that happening under any circumstances. No matter who is in the White House.

I want a 1911 first, no matter condition.

It would take additional legislation. CMP can sell .22 and .30 caliber rifles, and recent legislation expanded that charter to include .45 caliber 1911s.
I bet all those M9s will go into mothballs, or become part of a military aid package to an allied country.

Probably both. And I suspect a good many of them will eventually meet Captain Crunch.

The chances of the M9's being available through CMP are probably slim and none. I highly doubt the M1911's will make it either. War Stores, Military Assistance or destroyed would be my guess.

Although I love the idea of USGI M9's, my thought would be HiCap Mag = ixnay.

I just bought an M9. Not surplus, but new. Very reliable, fits my hand well, shoots straight.
