I bought one of the very first that they produced back in 2002(3?).

I found it very accurate, it really surprised me and my college buddies. It carried well and was dependable.

As with any used 1911 - be very aware of signs that someone has monkeyed with it. There are a lot of youtube 'expert gunsmiths' that will work over a 1911 and then resell it without disclosing their evil deeds.

I really liked mine....I don't know what I was thinking when I sold it

I had one long ago, also. Had a lot of bells and whistles for the money (bought it new at the time) and it sure seemed neat to me in the store - bought it on impulse at full price.

Honestly, it was fine. It was decently accurate but nothing special. I wound up carrying it with the 200-gr +P Federal expanding flat point (I think they've re-marketed this as Guard Dog these days), which my chrono and targets showed was a good match for this particular pistol. While I fundamentally question the wisdom of a 3" tube on a 1911, this one worked fine. Magazines, of course, are a major consideration with a 1911 - I had problems with McCormicks in this gun so I bought Wilsons then the gun ran reliably. I found my gun's ambi extended safety easily disengaged when the holstered gun bumped against things during ordinary daily activities (yay for the grip safety, but another strike in my mind against extended gamer safeties on carry guns).

I traded the gun off for a Glock 36 (which I traded off later) after a year or so - frankly, I've never missed either of them a whit.

I have a Springfield Micro Compact and mine is totally reliable. I have read of some 3" barrel 1911 style guns being troublesome but this one has been great. The short sight radius of this gun does make it take more concentration to get good hits--like a snubby revolver.

I have an SA Ultra Compact 3.5". The only problems that I have had are with magazines. Once in a while the slide wouldn't lock back after the last round with the factory mags. I replaced them with an assortment of Colt, Chip McCormick and Wilson Combat, all of which work equally well.
I usually carry it with a Wilson.

I had one 15 years or so back. Great gun but after a couple of years I decided I wasn't going to carry it. I traded it for my first S&W, a 629 and that jump started me down this path.
