Weekend Range Therapy with .22's
After a busy work week I loaded up a bag full of .22 semi-autos and a brick of .22LR ammo for some range therapy this weekend. I wanted to try out my new Ruger MKIV LITE next to a few of my other .22's for comparison. I had to get the MKIV's sights dialed in first, it was shooting low and left and it took me a couple of magazines to get it where I wanted. Once I got the sights there it held a tight pattern as the target shows below; 10 rounds at 15 yards off hand.
In comparison, I remember sighting in the S&W .22 Victory . . . It was on target right out of the box, I never had to touch the sights on it.
I still shoot best with my old standby, a 30 year old Ruger MKII stainless that I upgraded with a PACLITE upper a few years ago. That sucker is a tack driver.

Any range time with fun and accurate .22's can and should be fun.

The wife and I had some 22 fun with a couple of rifles last Thursday, a 50 plus year old Marlin model 80 bolt action and a new Ruger 10/22 carbine. Just pure fun.

Those Ozark Squirrels don't know how lucky they were that you didn't bring your .22 rifle.

I agree spent some time with a 22 target rifle Friday afternoon after a 45acp Mauser bolt

Wow, that's excellent shooting at 15 yards off hand. I'm lucky to do that off a rest.
But I do love my Mark IV.

That's some very nice shooting, and great collection of 22s you have there. I curious, though: what is your opinion or impression on your 22/45 MK II? I know, I know, I'm asking about the most mundane pistol out of the whole bunch, it's just that I have an affinity for older guns and gun designs, and I haven't seen many of these around, plus info is tough to find on them.

I love shooting .22. Over the past few years, I would venture to say that my 34-1 has more through it than any other firearm I own. And my 1911 conversion kit might be 2nd.
