New Colt Revolver
Was at the NRA convention and saw and handled the New Colt Cobra. Very nice revolver with one of the best "out of the box" triggers I have seen/felt. The proof will be in actually shooting one. Better trigger than my 442PC, slightly larger frame yet seems smaller than the Ruger SP101.
Looking forward to actually firing one of these.

It will be interesting to see how the Cobra sells. It sure looks like a winner. Being a .38 Special I think is a good thing. I'm not much for blasters. A 357 may have been a better caliber but I'm not sure. A .38 special is OK for me. There seems to be a market for it as Colt is a good name in spite of its seeming downfall and people are buying it. The article in American Rifleman's cover will do it well.
A good friend of mine is on two lists to acquire one. He is wanting it badly. Gunbroker is selling them for almost twice the retail..... go figure... I think "bragging rights" has a lot to do with that.. I don't think that it's a limited run.

Per the people at the Colt display booth, it will not be a limited run. They do have plans to expand the line, ie, longer barrels, different calibers, different finishes etc.

I was amazed at the feel of the trigger. the Colt rep told me is was "low light reflection and tactical" when I commented on the lack of a super polish and blue exterior like past Colts were noted for having. And its tactical with those goodyear grips. Nice wood wood grips and a nice blue job would make it a nice gun for my taste. As long as it looks like a cheap import, I will stay away. Probably because of the original Cobra being in the Safe may have something to do with that position.

Sure don't see many around these parts. My LGS can't get one still. I'm wondering if there are problems.

Thanks for the info. I always loved my 3rd issue Detective Special, but with prices on older Colts these days I'm a bit reluctant to carry it it again.
I'm looking forward to getting one of these in my hands and will probably buy one. However, so far nobody around here has one to sell.

42 pages of Colt revolvers on Gun Broker, and not one of the new Cobras. Sure like to see and handle one; but they must be like "hens-teeth".

They just started shipping last week. Right now they are slowly making there way into stores and selling very quickly. I have my name on a list at 2 local shops. No one I have talked to has seen one yet. I'm guessing it might be a couple of months before they are easily available. It's not like they can just stamp out 1,000 per day.

I handled one of the new Colt Cobras at my LGS today. The trigger is very smooth. The grip fits well in my hand. Love the way it looks. $684 price tag... yeow. But it still looks 1000 times better and feels 1000 times better than the new Kimber revolver that was sitting next to it.

Typical of Colt. They release a new revolver, get everyone excited, then take forever to get it into stores. By the time it does hit the stores, people might have lost interest.

Well, the $684 price tag seems pretty much in line with S&W offering of similar guns.
