Can't see any reason to give up my Kel Tec P3AT for front pocket blue jeans carry. When I can take something a little larger, it is my 340PD.

My first pocket pistol was a S&W 642, a little wide and heavy and flopped around in a cargo pants side pocket.
I will say that 642 was a great shooter..



When the LCP came out, I bought one of first ones at my LGS and sold my 642.
Yes, had to send the LCP back for the recall, but Ruger made it worth my while, extra mag and a little swag..
I liked the gun so much I sent the slide and parts to CCR for nickel-teflon finish.
Ended up polishing the barrel.






I've been carrying it for several years with a CTC laser using a High Noon Pocket Grabber.
Pocket carry in cargo shorts front, side, or rear pockets.
Also carry in a jeans rear pocket, as well as a custom made OWB holster.





Had Meco mag holder made and carried in my off side pocket.
Also have one of those for my CM9.



After buying my Kahr CM9 and having it redone in Ion-Bond and adding a front night sight, I researched the CW380 for pocket carry.
The CM9 is too big from what I want out of a pocket carry gun, but perfect for an easily concealed OWB when I need something small..





Same for the wife's Glock 42, too big for pocket carry.





I like the trigger on the Kahr CW380 over the LCP.
I don't really need a laser on a pocket gun, or any gun for that matter.
If my LCP holsters weren't already made for the laser, I ditch the LCP CTC laser.
I'll keep my LCP, but now carry the Kahr CM380 for pocket carry in a High Noon Pocket Grabber.
Although the Kahr has a stiff recoil spring, there is more to grip to rack the slide over the LCP.
Even though these guns a close range point and shoot, I like the Kahr sights over the LCP.
The Kahr also locks open on an empty mag, the LCP does not.
They both have guide rods with a 2 piece recoil spring.





I use Pachmayr TACTICAL GRIP GLOVES on both the CW380 and LCP.



These 2 are about the same size.

My next purchase with be an LCR or S&W, maybe even the Kimber K6..

I like the BG380 better than the Ruger LCP because the BG380 is a DA pistol. The Ruger is not DA. If the slide don't work the trigger won't work but once. Larry

G42 new model type 3 was a jam machine ,sent back and still jams at least 3 times per 100 rds. Sold it. The g19 and 17 run good!

I do like my Sig P238.

Those of you bashing the bodyguard obviously have outdated information. Any bodyguard that is an M&P has had all the issues worked out of it. Yes, im aware that does not mean a few cant come off the line with a flaw, but overall the M&P bodyguards are as reliable as anything else and i love mine. The LCP 2 felt horrible in my hand and too much like a toy.

Id probably try a taurus spectrum before I would buy the LCP.

Well, since I don't have any friends who try to tell me what I can or can't buy I have a Taurus TCP that I picked up for just a tad over $200 about 3 or 4 years ago.

I've put a few hundred rounds of various brands and types of ammo through it without a single failure, so I guess I lucked out again and got that 1 in 1000 good one.

I picked up a TCP for 179 and also have found it to be reliable - i picked it over the ruger as it has a slide lock and found lots of good reviews around

This is what goes in my pockiet. I like the choice of SA or DA. I put red nail polish on the front sight and black on the rear, after shooting it some in the Internet Snubby Matches. I think that's the best sight combination. If I think things might get close and personal, that Laguiole knife may go in the other pocket.

I buy my jeans the same way. Since I IWB carry I find size 36 about perfect. Sometimes I can get away with 35 depending on the cut and style/type.

I've been carrying the Ruger LCP now for over 6 years. In pocket, no holster. Since I'm in a rural area, I have luxury of just pulling it out and firing it with lint and all (not that I let it build up too much) and it has never failed to fire. I can't agree more with the original poster, it has my vote. I know a lot of officers carry them as back up around these parts.

G-43 fits in my front pocket just fine. 7 rounds (+1) of 9mm. A G-27 (in 357 Sig) fits in the front pocket of my Wranglers or cargo pants=10 rounds (+2).

PS: 500+ rounds through either G43 (wife's or mine) and no jams except cheap ammo. 1" groups @ 7 yards with the g-27 in 257 Sig and 2" in 40 S & W.

We're happy!

The wife and I both have LCPs. Love em

I just got a Kahr CM40. Less than 5.5" long and carries 6 rounds of 40. Very good pocket carry.

My interpretation of the perfect pocket carry...

You sir, have some damn big pockets!

There is nothing unsafe about the LCP IIs trigger

I had the original Kel Tec 3at then got the original LCP because it was better. I later got the Taurus TCP because it had better sights and trigger than the Ruger. Then the second Generation LCP came out with improved sights and trigger and I liked it better than the Taurus. Recently the LCP II came out with near perfect sights and trigger for a pocket pistol and the recoil is much milder, I can fire a box of ammo no problem. The previous LCPs didn't seem to recoil much but it was weird, my hand started getting numb after only a couple of magazines. The LCP II seems to be the perfect pocket gun for me because I wear boot cut jeans most of the time and have muscular legs so a J-frame feels like a billard ball in my pocket when I sit down.

Well... now Palmetto has a coupon code "Bodyguard" for another $30 off the non laser Bodyguard. That makes it $169 after rebate.

It's getting difficult to resist clicking the buy button with the some of the gun prices being offered lately.

Heck, that makes the LCP pricey at $199. Looking forward to seeing the LCP on sale at $129.

Actually, it's not nearly as bad as I expected. I also pocket carry a Charter Arms Bull Dog Pug 44 and I think the 44 has a little more recoil. Kahr also makes the CM 9 which has the same demensions except its a little narrower and lighter. I took my 40 to the range and fired about 120 rounds without a failure. It calls for a 200 round break in. It has a long trigger pull but very smooth. I think the 9 might be a better pocket carry because of less recoil but the 40 isn't as bad as I expected. It was $320 at Buds Guns. Great bargain in my opinion.

For me it's the BG.380 HANDS-DOWN but the Sig 238 is starting to gain my trust though I wish the trigger was heavierBG's second strike capability looong DAO heavy trigger and SS slide there is only one other gun I like in my pocket was my old 642

I love S&W's, but I bought a Sig P238 "Rainbow" Titanium for my wife for Mothers Day. It is, dare I say "Cute"? She totally loves it. Moms happy - I'm happy!

Smith and Wesson Bodyguard .380 w/o laser.

Astonishingly accurate, incredibly thin, excellent trigger.
I carry mine every day in right-front pants pocket in a Ruger pocket holster, where it is at the present moment.

So thin and lightweight I forget that it is there.

Second choice is Taurus PT- .22LR, or Ruger LCR .38.

I totally disagree about the LCP. I got one when they first came out. I carried it for about a year, but could never get used to that lousy trigger pull. It was uncomfortable and had an adverse affect on follow-up shots, even with a laser mounted on the gun. I replaced it with a Kahr PM9 and have been much happier ever since. And, no more lasers on my pocket pistols. The Kahr is a tad heavier but has a much smoother trigger pull and the recoil is much manageable than the LCP. However, since the Shield .45 became available it has become my favorite EDC, even though I pocket carry it. Occasionally I'll substitute for a Smith Model 442, depending on my mood.

Comments about how bigger heavier guns are more comfortable in the hand, easier to handle and aim, bigger sights, less punishing to shoot... remind me of when I went shopping for a pocket gun.

When I went shopping for a pocket gun the main objective was something I'd be willing to carry at all times when dressed. Inside, outside, walking downtown or snoozing on the couch. But when I was at the gun counter I found myself drifting to larger heavier guns that felt better in the hand. I had to keep reminding myself that I had a safe full of bigger heavier guns... but unwilling to carry all the time. That's why I was at the gun counter!

Anyway... settled on the LCP because it was among the smallest and lightest in it's class with no miniature safety controls to fumble with. And having done a fair amount of reading on the Net beforehand found fewer complaints about reliability, which of course is a numero uno area of concern with small autoloaders.

The LCP turned out to be a great purchase that has more carry mileage on it than my other guns.

I was also a LCP carrier, until the LCP II came out. The LCP II is what I wanted the LCP to be, a teeny bit wider, better gripping surface, improved sights (but I practice instinct shooting closer that 10 yards), and the improved striker fired trigger.

I cannot comment on the Pico, but the Nano is my pocket gun. I don't really understand the 380 craze. To me, the size difference between 380 and 9mm is just not worth what you're giving up. To get smaller than 9mm, I think you should go to 32acp.

But the Nano is accurate in my hands and fits in my pocket. I've never had a failure. The only knock I have is that the trigger is not very good. That is usually a problem for me (I admit I'm a snob), but I've found it doesn't' affect my accuracy so I don't care. The balance of the gun is okay. It's too small for me to consider it top heavy.

I am interested in what people think of the Pico, but I'm happy with the Nano for pocket carry. I've not found another 9mm in the price range that I can pocket carry.

An RM380 had almost replaced my 642 until my bride discovered and appropriated it. A lot of little gun for the money. She keeps all 6 rounds in the 8 ring of a B27 at 7 yards point shooting. I guess she can keep it.

Have tried almost all of the pocket guns in .32, .380 and 9mm and for "shootability" I much prefer the Kahr P380.




Has cycled at least five different loads with zero problems...





Very easy to shoot accurately...







The other pocket favorite is KelTec .32. With the pocket clip it can be hidden just about anywhere...




I've had about 10 of them that I keep letting friends buy from me...no more. Now they can go find their own....




The Ruger is a nice little gun but is too slim for my hands...

I know that I probably posted elsewhere on this but my LCP is my favorite for pocket carry or any carry for that fact. I know the trigger pull is what it is but I've practiced enough using it so I'm use to it! I'm not out to fight a war with it, it's to get me out of a jam. If I feel the need for something else I'll go to my 36 or my Glock.
The most important thing about the LCP is that when I carry it no matter how I do so, I don't feel like I need a pair of suspenders to support its weight and to keep my pants up!

I'm currently a LCR 357 and Glock 42 guy. I prefer the LCR but turn to the G42 for smaller pockets. These two options fit every pocket I own except for jeans...and for that I currently have a LCP II. But to be honest I have tried almost every pocket 380 including the Kahr, the TCP and the BG. They all functioned reliably but I'd say the Kahr is the easiest to shoot for me.

Although I found that I don't shoot any of the pocket 380's anywhere close to as well as the LCR 357 or G42. So, I have decided that I'm pretty much done with micro pocket 380's. I'm gonna sell the LCP II and get a LCR38 and put on the bantam boot grip which cuts the height and length enough that it slips well enough into and out of jeans pockets. I don't pocket carry in jeans much anyway except for around the house. When wearing jeans "out and about" I will carry the LCR 357 or G42 either IWB or on my ankle.

Different strokes for different folks.
