Happy Birthday to Me
My birthday was last month and I have been looking for a 1911 since then and found a Rock Island Ultra CS. 3.5 inch barrel and it is all steel. I have not owned any 1911s but have shot a few 5 inch Colts that belonged to a friend. I picked it up yesterday and went to the range earlier today for its first 100 rounds. It shot well and the recoil was not that bad for a short barrel and 230 gr. hardball ammo. The price was 650.00 which fit my budget. Here are a couple of pictures.

I sure like mine. I eats anything,even cheap cast bullet handloads using a 175 gr SWC bullet. I's had a little work done on it since the picture was taken: checkered grips and Novak night sights. It's within reach right now.
