Default Spectacular vintage American guns for the rest of us

What are the truly spectacular vintage American guns for the rest of us.

IMHO, the S&W pre-27, Ithaca 4E Knick single barrel trap gun and and pre-WWII Savage 99 are among the best of the best.

1911 and SAA. It doesn't get any better; well, perhaps a 1903 Springfield too.

The M1941 Johnson rifle and light machine gun. Two firearms that just dared to be different.

The S&W auto pistols. Vintage? In todays world of polymer, yes. Nearly out of production and looking at prices, highly collectible without costing nearly as much as some of the above suggestions.

Compared to the HK P7 or Colt "Snake" revolvers they are downright cheap.

I'd say a Winchester pump .22. That's the kind of firearm that caught my eye when I was a kid, and I still like em. Just as iconic as a classic Smith or Colt but everyone could have one (even a kid).

I still don't though.......but my wife bought me a new Henry pump for our anniversary a few years ago. It is a good substitute for now, but I still want an 1890 some day.
