Restoration?
This Mauser pistol is an early one and a very scarce variation. It seems the scarcer the Mauser, the worse the condition. This one has not one square millimeter of original finish; the rear sight is missing, and somebody chopped off the muzzle flush with the front sight. Does anyone know of a good restorer I can sent this pistol to, so it can be returned to its former glory?

There are several C96-specific websites where you might want to ask the same question. There are guys who do specialize in C96 restorations and repair.

Oh boy, a six shot cone hammer. Wish I could run across one of those..you might go over to the Luger Forum and post this in the off topic and other firearms section. There is a guy over there that collects rare brooms, he may know who could do the work.

Looks like yours originally had the adjustable rear sight, There are several variations of the six-shot Cone Hammer Mausers, and all are considered rare, especially the adjustable sight versions. Yours probably has a fairly low SN. Does it have the SN stamped on the magazine floorplate? How about "SYSTEM MAUSER" stamped on the chamber? If yes to both, you have a real rarity. Those stopped around SN 370.

Mine originally had an adjustable rear sight. It came with what was probably a rifle sight glued in place but it has since fallen off. It's in the 3K range, and no, it's not a 'System Mauser'.
Bought it at a gun show for $750. A friend of the vendor later told me with a smirk I could have had it for $500. I told him that if I took it to a show where there were auto pistol collectors, I'd put $2000 on it, which shut him up quickly.
I have another 6 shot: a large ring hammer which has a fixed rear sight. It's in a lot better condition. I know that DWM and probably RWS made Mauser ammo put on on six shot clips, but I've never seen one of the clips.
