Holes In Your Collection/Accumulation -- Filled and Unfilled
1) Which hole in your collection have you filled
2) Which glaring hole remains
For me:
Filled with a vengeance: 1911 made by Ithaca in 1943
Unfilled and glaring at me: 20 gauge SXS made by Parker, A.H. Fox or L.C. Smith

I have no structured collection.
So there is no hole . . . other than the cylinders and I fill those with ammunition as often as possible
The common thread amongst my firearms is that I like them. The only other theme is serial number related
Are there more firearms I would like to own? Sure
Things just come my way.
On occasion, I do work to get specific pieces, but that is usually serial number related and not specifically firearm related.
As examples, Smith and Wesson has only produced 6 variations of the carbon steel 8 shot, model 27 over the years. Here are all six with the same serial number (different prefixes).
My Performance Center 625 Hunter chambered in 45 Colt is serial numbered CLT0045
I know I need to reshoot the photo
When Colt reintroduced the Seventy Series 1911s I had them send me serial number 70
Plus I own quite a few firearms where my birthday is serial number. Or others that are all zeros.
That kind of thing

I don't have holes in my accumulation.
I have a surplus of some things: Parkers, English game guns, L C Smiths and miscellaneous other sxs shotguns as well as Colt 1911's, M 40's and M 38's.
Don't know how that happened.

Well, I was gathering 80's/90's DA/SA fullsize 9mm's, and recently filled a gaping hole when I picked up a Sig P226. That gives me CZ 75, Beretta 92. Sig P226; and then S&W 915, Zastava CZ 99, Star 30MI.
What's left: HK P7 and Walther P88; probably outside my budget. Taurus PT 92; a little too similar to the Beretta to really consider. Maybe a Ruger P84 or 89 if the price is right, same with Daewoo DP 51.
Would consider "upgrading" the S&W to a 59xx, but: I prefer blue to stainless, and prefer the round trigger guard. I don't really see the 5904 as a big upgrade, I suppose a 5905 would be the ticket.
Not looking at Jericho's or Witness/Tanfoglios, as I figure the CZ 75 has that realm covered.
Not really sure what else is left.

Like Scoobysnacker I too would love to have a Walther P88 and H&K P7 to complete my "collection" of German police pistols, but like him they are probably outside my budget.
I've got some nice guns....both for "collecting" such as my BHP, Beretta 92, 5906, or 9mm Sig 220 and for shooting (Walthers, Sigs, and S&Ws).
The one gun I'd sell off some safe queens to get....a P 08 Luger. Da real thing. But shooter grade only. I think if I added that to my accumulation I'd be pretty much done....then it's just ammo, ammo, and more ammo. and maybe a 3913.

Used to have about 6 pre 64 model 70 but they went down the road. Only model 70 I now have is a post '64 match rifle. now a days I accumulate old military surplus rifles and a smattering of single shot rifles. They are my link to the past. Frank

I picked up an AR last month. Kind of fell into it. I wasn't really looking for one, but it seems logical to have one around. I think I still like my Mini-14 better, though.
Not sure it's a "hole"- but I would really like to add a 3" K-frame round-butt 13 or 65. And a Springfield EMP4.

This! And in case anyone cares, it's 1956 (has to be a really nice revolver).
I've filled a few other holes in the last year tho (5"nickel 27-2, 4" 66 no dash, and a 3" nickel 36)!

The only thing I would consider a hole would be a CZ82 to fill a gap in my modest array of CZ pistols. There are a few other guns I would buy should the opportunity arise, but I won't go out of my way, or spend an undue amount to get any of them, a Smith or two, a 1911 of some modest flavor, and maybe a couple of others, or perhaps something that has never occurred to me.

I have a pretty in depth list written somewhere but I dont collect as much as I accumulate so there aren't really gaping holes.
I would like a luger, reg mag, any model of trench shotgun, Colt SAA 1st Gen., and the list goes on

Recently filled holes: A pristine-perfect-in-box Model 39-2, a couple of CZ all-metal pistols and a Ruger LCP II for low-threat, lightweight pocket carry in lieu of my Bodyguard .380.
Still glaring holes: A proper K-22 Masterpiece, a BHP in 9mm and, somewhat lower in priority but still desired, an SW99 in .45 ACP.

Missing: A classy engraved K Frame snub nose, preferably with a little gold inlay and Ivory stocks.

Recently scratched a long-time itch for a K-frame snub with a minty 10-4 with its original stocks and box. The 50-year-old bluing is a thing of beauty.
Still want to find an older Ithaca M37 Deerslayer or Police model and a couple of hunting rifles. And any nice old S&W revolvers, especially N-frames. So much iron, so little cash!

My menagerie is pretty complete, but there are still a few more I'd like to add. An Ithaca M1911A-1 and a 520 NYSP are at the top of the list, plus about a half dozen others. Many of the guns I have acquired were the ones I wanted as a kid, and I have all of them except the Ithaca. The list of S&W revolvers I'd like to have has grown a bit over the years, for which I credit the Standard Catalog and this forum.
