I got this just because.... ***PICS ADDED***
....it needed a new home. I was the only bidder @ $225.It appears to be either a British or Canadian issue Colt New Service in .455 Eley.The serial number dates it to 1916.
I've got a few boxes of the ammo stored away.
I've got that feeling it might just have an interesting story to tell too!!

It arrived today. It is an "uncut" .455.
There are no markings anywhere on the gun except the serial # ( 10643).
If there are or were any markings, I certainly can't see them.
Are those traces of nickle on the butt and grip frame?
Would the correct stocks for this 1916 vintage gun be wood or the black logo grips?
I wonder where the stocks that are on it came from.....

I got one of those too. Wasn't really interested in it until I started
fooling with it. I modified a old Lyman 45/70 330gr Hp mold to
drop a 272gr hp bullet. Size to .457" over 5gr Unique. Shoots
right on the money at 50'. Mine is in pretty nice condition and
has Brit markings.
