6 shot Ruger LCR
I was in the market for a new gun. Needed something to pocket carry for a BUG. While looking at Buds website I found a Ruger LCR in 327 Fed mag. Holds 6 rounds, fits pocket, has good trigger, price not too bad, good self defense round. Downside is cost of ammo and small selection of ammo. Also have to order ammo on line. So I ordered gun plus severall hundred rounds of ammo. Most 327 but some 32 wadeutters also. I am now thinking about getting a Lee hand loader and load my own. It was the 1980s that I last did any hand loading but if I plan to shoot this gun much I guess I need to get back into it.

Congrats on the LCR. Mine is a .38 so it's cheap to shoot but you have an extra round and a wide ammo choice.

Wife has a LCR in 38spl. and it's a great revolver. I'd have fun with the 327 mag version as all I'd need is brass, bullets and a die set to start reloading. If you want to get back into reloading look into some of the single stage press kits available. Midway has the RCBS rockchucker kit with about everything on sale this weekend for something like $280.

The LCR in 327 Magnum is an excellent choice for a carry revolver. Just the ammo choices make for a very versatile revolver in this truly under rated chambering.

Jokes apart, I'm the vice-CC of the Italian Carabineri (investigastive police) & the happy owner of a S&W 327-1 which matches perfectly my Beretta stricker apx (Springfield there in usa): it has te same calper 357 sig = 327 H&Rm; I just wonder
WHY S&W don't advertize about it on their wesite??? cheers

I have an LCR 357 which was my main carry which I kept loaded with 38+P. 357 mag rounds is a handful in the LCR but doable. I had an Ruger SP101 327mag and I can tell you even the heavier SP101 made shooting 327 no picnic. I shot more .32 in it than the 327. For target shooting the 32 round is really nice.
Yep the 327 mag ammo is not cheap at all and even the 32 isn't all that cheap. I think I got my best 327 prices from Cabellas one time at $17 box of 50. They often cost around $28 for 50.
I really like the LCR but just recently went to a Bulldog 44 spl. Not much different to carry than the LCR, If you have never shot a 44 spl then I recommend you try one.

For ammo, don't overlook the 32 H&R Mag. Not quite as powerful as the 327, but but no slouch either. 100 gr JHP at around 1200 fps.

I have heard about the recoil of the 327mag so the first thing I am doing is replacing the Hogue boot grips with the Hogue tamer grips. Getting all three fingers on the grip will help with recoil. I also have some Hivz front sights ordered. Plan on keeping my eye open for H&H mag ammo as well as the 327. Midway does have a good price on 32 S&W long wadcutters.

The best practice ammo I've found is the American Eagle 100 grain jacketed soft point or the 85 grain version of the same.
If you plan to carry the 100 gr Gold Dot, then the 100 grain AE is a very close match in recoil and velocity.
If you carry the 85 gr Federal Hydra Shok, then the 85 grain AE is a good practice round.
For general practice, I use the 32 long wad cutters or round nose.
The AE JSP's sell in the low $20 range from mail order places. Not cheap, but not unreasonable either.
