Default Pachmayr's Diamond Pro SP101 grip

I have neither used nor examined Pachmayr's Diamond Pro SP101 grip. Photographs appear to show a smaller top-to-bottom grip when compared with SP101's original OEM grip. I deduce its height by comparing its finger grooves with Hogue's Monogrip® - that is, the Monogrip has more finger grooves.

Anyone who has a Diamond Pro grip - In terms of height, width, thickness, and overall ergonomics or comfortable use, please compare it with Ruger's original SP101 OEM (the one using inserts on both sides).

I've got those grips on the sp101. My understanding is that there's two versions of this same grip. The one that I have is typical soft semi tacky rubber. The other which bears the same, or similar identification numbers, is made from some kind of hard polymer. I got mine from a popular website, let's call it glamazon, and there was many problems, and long faces, because of the misunderstanding. So be aware of that. It's said that the rubber version can leave the concealed carry user with printing on a shirt, or similar. I don't carry, so I can't comment on this issue. Only that some people were receiving the wrong one, when clearly ordering the hard plastic from the description.
As far as fitment; I've had no issues, and the grip fits my hand perfectly. The factory grip is hard to hang onto, as it's small, and provides no purchase for the little finger. The diamond pro helps with both. It's not a fat grip, width wise, but fills the hand comfortably as well as the area between the trigger guard and the grip very well, but not completely. There's room for improvement. But it's worth the twelve to fifteen bucks to transition you away from those terrible factory grips. At least until you find something better. It's true that you get what you pay for. Mine is for a cheap car gun, so I'm really happy, but if it we're something for an expensive shooter, I'd spend a bit more. BTW, there's nowhere to put the factory provided takedown pin, if you're hoping for that. It made my sp101 a pleasure to shoot, compared to what it was... a world of difference.

The Pachmayr Diamond Pro grips are made from some sort of cushioney rubber compound, and are a larger than the stock grips on the SP101. The screw that attaches the Diamond Pro grips goes through the frame opening that holds the grip locator pin. That pin is replaced by a small spacer that holds the screw in place.

If you look at a photo of the Diamond Pro grip and notice where the screw enters on the right side, you'll be able to make a good guess as to the overall length of the grip

I'd carried my 2.25" barrel AIWB for many months, and never found that it printed under any of my shirts.

They did allow me to comfortably shoot any 357 rounds that I chose to.

The pachmayr changes the grip angle a bit but it is more comfortable for shooting 357 rounds because it covers more of the trigger guard area, which protects the knuckle against the trigger guard. It is also a little thicker than the stock grips. I'd give it a thumbs up.
