I love S&W and have 2 Shields (45 & 9), a 586, a SW40VE and a 1000 shotgun but I have this Taurus 845 that has everything. At the time of purchase, I was looking for a full size striker fire .45. I was looking at Taurus because of price. The 24/7 was popular but I had trouble finding one. I looked at the 845 in a LGS and instantly like the feel and function. I think they are discontinued now but features I liked:
Full size but still not big big
Exposed hammer - just like that in a full size
Safety and de-cocking
Ambidextrous everything - safety, mag release, action release
12+1 capacity - not bad for .45
Excellent price
So I bought one, took it to the range and it shoots like a dream. I know there are probably Taurus haters out there but I really like this as a full size pistol. Anyone else have my experience?
