What is it specifically you want to know? We own 2. A Silverback 10mm and the ECO 45. Fantastic in every way, fit, finish, trigger, components, no mim parts, and extremely accurate. Well worth the cash.

I bought one when they first came out. It was good but not great. Sold it.
I have one (PM45) that has had some work (Dave Severns) that is a little less than 10 years old or so that is excellent.
I bought a Guardian brand new a couple of months ago. It is SUPERB. Fit, finish, accuracy, everything.
From my experience their recent work is their best. I wouldn't hesitate to buy another.

I have two in 10mm. I've carried them off and on for over a decade without a glitch.
I like them.

Best production 1911 you can buy. No MIM parts. All parts are machined from bar stock and each gun is assembled by one gunsmith. Accurate and reliable. Fit and finish is outstanding considering they are not custom guns like Wilson or Brown.
They are built like John Browning wanted them. They are series 70 guns, no full length guide rods, no forward cocking serrations on most models.
Are they expensive? Yes. But when you compare one to another brand that cost the same, there is question that you're getting your monies worth. And compared to other brands Wesson guns are beautiful.
This my second.
The trigger is a crisp 4 pounds out of the box. There is no reason why a gunsmith needs to make this gun "better".

They are a gateway drug to higher end 1911s. They are the best value in production 1911s on the market today when you consider materials, fit and finish and performance right out of the box. You can still get a Heritage around $1000 or move up to the Valor for about $1500.
I have an older CBOB which I bought years ago on the cheap. Love it. Was my carry gun for years.

Guardian
I have a Dan Wesson Guardian I purchased 5 or so years ago and agree with the above, it's fantastic. I've never shot/handled a Wilson Combat or other high end 1911 but the DW does everything I need it to do so is a great value to me.

I had a stainless Specialist, new. Wonderful pistol - like most of my wonderful pistols, I sold it (regretfully).

^^^ This. IMO you would need to take a significant step up dollars-wise to get a better 1911.
To my eye the naked slide & brush polished finish is muchly pleasing!
This model isn't on our not too unsafe approved roster so when one showed up on our local classifieds board I was on it like white on rice!

I'm down to three Dan Wesson 1911s right now, a Pointman 7, a Pointman 9 and a Guardian. In my opinion they are the best 1911 for the money on the market today.

While I don't own a Dan Wesson 1911 I've shot a few and detail cleaned a few. They are great pistols for the money. I've read in a few forums that since they are built to a very tight slide to frame fit, in the stainless steel versions galling and slide frame lock up has been reported. From what I read DW gives you a sample break-in oil with the new gun , and they strongly advise you use it liberally and often during the break in process. From what I can tell if you use the oil as directed, there is usually no galling, lock-up issues.

THANK YOU
Thanks for the info .I guess they right up there as far as 1911's go. I have an opportunity to pick up a 2012 Commander CBOB. 45 in excellent condition for about a 1k total. I think I will go ahead with it. PS. The LGS owner said that their price is more than fair.

For a production pistol, the DW comes as close to custom built quality as you can get.

Congratulations on a great firearm!
My Guardian 9 is a piece of art, both in form and function. It might be my most appreciated purchase.
