Default Corp of Discovery knife

Been slacking lately. Not been on here at all...not much for guns.
But thought it would be a chance to share a new knife...

Not truly as the title implies. I think it might have been a half tang. And the scales might have been 6 sided with 3 pins. My best guess...others might not share the same opine. Think I got the blade close...

I'd like more info.
Did you make it? If so, what of? Is there a sheath? Where did you get the design? What are the dimensions?

Nice knife. Reminds me a bit of this:

That's a nice blade. Can you put an object in the photo to give some scale. Thanks.

Yes..I made it. It is from a blank I cut out of a 30 inch buzz saw blade. I spark tested the steel to check for carbon. Annealed the blade before shaping and normalized it. Heat treated to non magnetic and oil quenched. Made a sheath for it. The design is one of my own. Dimensions are 9.5" overall with 4.75"blade length. The knife measures 1/8" across the spine. Scales are American walnut.

Fine work. It looks like a real heavy duty working knife.

I know absolutely nothing about making knives as my comment is about to reveal...but not only do I not see any scales, I don't even see a fish.

Looks like nice work, a good "chopper" type blade, but a little short for chopping work.

Thanks for the info. It's a nice looking knife. Looks like a hollow grind on the edge.
Beautiful walnut on the scales.

Actually it's a 10 degree flat grind that was convexed at the end...find this is the best grind for a field knife and the easiest edge to maintain. Again...in the field.

I have Bark River convex-ground knives that can be stopped back to sharp (but rarely need it) on a piece of cardboard. It's a great edge cpnfiguration.

Giz....I'm glad to see you posting here again.

BTW that's a beautiful knife.

Are you still placing your guns on those "scratchy" rocks when you take pics......great pics of great guns, but they always gave me chill-bumps thinking that if it was me, I would scratch-up my gun.
