Default New sights for older Hi Power

I purchased a BHP from CDI a couple of years ago. Since then I had it worked on with a great trigger job (about 2 lbs. and no, I don't carry it...strictly for range use), recoated, new grips, no mag safety, etc.

I love the gun. Love it. But I hate the sights. My olding eyes just don't pick em up....and there ain't much to pick up for that matter.

I've had FOs put on most of my other pistols, especially my EDC Walthers, and they really help.

When I had my smith (one of the best in the Seattle area) do the work he was reluctant to do the sights.

Now, I want to shoot the gun up to it's potential and I think new sights will do the trick.

Suggestions? The front is NOT dovetailed but integral to the slide...what are my options, if any? Pics below. (Thanks in advance for any advice.)

+1 for Novak. I sent my 1969 C series HP slide to them to install their low profile rear sight with a gold bead front. I had it back in about 2 weeks and the work was excellent. The best part is how easy it is to see the sights. I would highly recommend them and their prices are very competitive.

You think those sights are bad. Try a internal extractor Hi Power with the tiny notch and small rounded blade front sights. My early '50s version has the V-notch which is somewhere in the 1/16 to 3/32 wide and deep size range. The front rounded blade might be a 1/16 wide. I took mine into the garage today with some of my needle files. I took the round file and went in from the muzzle side of the rear sight making it both wider and deeper. Then I filed the rear half of the front sight, making a 45 degree ramp. I may see if I can find a cheap checkering file and do the new flat on the front sight. It has made a night and day difference, especially with the rear sight. Using the round needle file on the rear keeps a good sharp edge when viewed from the rear.
