I'm intrigued by the Springfield EMP in .40 s&w. This one has the steel frame, 3 inch barrel.

Can anyone with experience with this gun comment on:

1) Out of the box reliability
2) How many rounds until recoil spring assembly change
3) Long term durability

thanks.

I have 1 in 40 and 1 in 9mm , the 40 is a flame thrower but has NEVER had any problems or malfunctions .The 9 had to have the firing pin stop changed because the extractor was clocking , no more trouble
Great guns IMO

Great little 9mm, except mine is back to SA to have the ejector pinned. Not pinned from the factory on a $1,000 gun. It would shoot 25-30 rounds before the ejector would rise and lock it up. I could tap it back down with a plastic hammer and shoot another 25-30 rounds. I'm not happy with SA QC! There are lots of comments on the 1911 forum.

Not all things work , I think they are now pinned. Companies do try to simplify the manufacturing process

Walter-I wish your comment on pinning was true. I was told when I called in 2 weeks ago that they still were not pinning the ejector.
