I picked this up over the weekend. Sure is a fun little guy. The Damascus is what caught my eye. Fit and finish is top notch. Fires strong with a kick. Lock up is tight.

A Minnow 13 sold fairly recently for around $800, if I remember correctly.

The earlier comment about jewelry isn't too far off, in my opinion. The Minnows are more of an art knife than a really practical knife...more suitable for showing them off than for actually using them for anything. I certainly wouldn't want to get animal blood down into the works, or dirt and grease.

Women seem to like them. Eye candy.

That is one of the most unusual Damascus patterns I have ever seen. Quite a blend of old & new.

Very unusual - very pretty. I have a couple of Damascus blades but they are far more typical.

I literally use either one but preferably the bigger one as a steak knife if I go out to eat to a steak restaurant. I actually bought the bigger one specifically for that purpose.

I know. I am a pompous and effete idiot.

While I agree with the art/jewelry comments, it can and does have utilitarian purposes. In a configuration with less expensive materials, it fits into the watch pocket of jeans, deploys with one hand, is California compliant and can be used for any task that a 1.5 inch blade is good for. Every bit as practical as the 1 inch bladed swiss army knives many people have on their key chains (he makes them with a bail so you could do that as well) He made at least one with Damascus scissors and nail file. Some configuations are as light as 1.5oz

Each knife is unique (both in materials and dimensions), made by hand, using hand tools - by one guy, Philip Booth himself. Production is very low and craftsmanship is off the charts. The number of variations is staggering.

He is an award winning painter, printmaker and knifemaker. He won the 2016 Blade Show Custom Knife Award for "Most Innovative Design". He is a full-time maker and voting member of The Knifemakers' Guild.

Having said all of that, I spent a ton of money on something I will never use and never carry. The whole package just blew me away, but that Robert Eggerling Damascus, just spoke to me. (Take me home and make sweet-sweet love to me, were her exact words) I've never seen anything like it. He has only used that Damascus on two knives. The other one is very different in appearance than mine.

Least expensive models are around $300.

CKRT has licensed the design and produces a non-automatic version called The Snicker with a MSRP of $35 - street price around $23.

I was familiar with his artistic background and credentials...but actually wondered if he was still active or alive, because he hasn't updated his website in about seven years now.

I guess he's still around, though.

I like it that he gives fanciful names to some of his creations. In addition to the Minnow series, he also makes another small knife called the Twerp.
