Nice gun, a waste being in .380, but I'm sure it comes in 45acp. I really like the black with brushed sides a lot. It's just me, but when I see a 1911 auto in anything except 45acp I just cringe!

These are 7/8ths scale reduced size 1911's specifically made for the .380 ACP cartridge. No way a 45 ACP barrel will ever fit that chassis. There is also a .1911-22 .22 LR version.

I bought my wife the all black version a couple of years ago. Being a true locked breech design, the slide is light and also delightfully easy to rack. My wife has hand strength issues and has no trouble at all with the Black Label 1911-.380. Accuracy is good, especially with quality modern hollowpoint defensive loads. We have well over 1000 rounds shot and the pistol shows no wear. Easy to clean too!

The one thing the pistol has which it shouldn't is a magazine safety. A defensive pistol should fire without the magazine. I stripped the pistol and eliminated the mag disconnect on hers. The gun still has three other safety systems, the grip safety, the series 80 firing pin block and the thumb activated ambidextrous safety.

One issue we did have was 6th and 7th round stovepipes. I found the issue on the a Browning forum and it is caused by the magazine feed lips being too wide. Many of the mags are like that. browning will replace them, or you can use smooth parallel jaw pliers to adjust the inside width to .306-.308 inch. The mags causing our misfeeds measured .316 and .319 inch.

JMO, but any 1911 in anything but 45acp is still an abomination.
