RUGER .41 mag problem
Base pin comes loose during recoil. I replaced the pin and the latch. Still doing it. Any suggestions?

Replace the spring with a Wolff extra power spring and use Loctite 222 on the threads.

I haven't tried the Belt Mountain base pin, but many like it and find that it cures your problem.
My 7.5-inch barreled Super Blackhawk in .44 Magnum never caused a problem, but the spring on the release felt soft and I was thinking of getting the Belt Mt. setup when I had to sell the gun to pay a bill.

Get yourself a Belt Mountain base pin! I have this base pin on two of my Rugers and it made all the difference in the world.

I had 2 old 3 screw ones with the 4 5/8th " bbl.
I never had any issues.
They are 2 I wish I had back. Perfect size for packing.
The only problem was, I was young and operated under trade fever too long.

Update. In the last six months I have changed the base pin latch spring with a Wolf extra power and put Loctite on the threads. ( and the trigger and hammer spring, since I was buying springs anyway).
Better, but still jumping loose.
After close inspection, I noticed the latch didn't appear to protrude very far into the hole for the base pin. I very carefully drilled that hole about .030 deeper( actually the countersink).
Problem solved....and along with the new springs, have a sweet shootin' .41 mag.
Thanks for the comments.
